Excellent project five stars for me

Not cheap and forget about the presentation box that just serves to ensure they arrive in pristine condition these mills are of excellent design. Comfortable in the hand and easy to operate they are heavy and have a low centre of gravity and so are stable on the table or on a tray. Instability can be a problem in taller slimmer mills because the weight of batteries ( 6 ) and the motor is all at the top. The grind is adjustable on the pepper mill but not on the salt so the salt used has to be coarse. On unlocking the whole battery / motor part lifts away and can be stood down on a flat surface, the opening to the mill chamber is wide so filling is easy.

Neither the salt nor the pepper mill grind anymore and are less than 10 months old. Given the cost of these, approx. £150, this is a disgrace.

They have quite little space for salt and pepper, but works well.

I just buy it because I had salt version. I am pretty happy and pleased. but the price is a bit much..

I have the salt and pepper grinder set and overall its a decent set (if possibly a little bling, being electric and having a bulb to illuminate your plate as you grind). The one frustration is that the salt mill is super fussy as to the salt it will grind. The mini salt sachet provided in the box is processed very easily (these are large salt pearls or granuals). Unfortunately coarse salt flakes (Maldon, Cornish etc.) seem to defeat the mill and very little milled salt is produced regardless of how long you wait. As such I am experimenting with a few suppliers on line to see what the best salt for the mill is (its eye opening the variety availible but a bit tedious that such research is nessesary). Furthermore the mill is apparently only designed for sea rather than any type of rock salt (I suspect due to the relative hardness) so that reduces your options yet further.

Bought this as a joke Christmas present for the missus, but it has seen more use than any other kitchen related utensil ever. Each grinder is quite heavy due to the batteries, but it'll grind big rock salt or pepper corns with no problem. A really nice touch if you're looking for a gift for someone hard to buy for.
