This is a good-sized wooden chess board with nicely weighted plastic pieces. They are magnetic and there is a metal surface below the squares.The pieces store in a tray which fits into a slot between the two board surfaces. The other board, Chinese Checkers also has pieces (marbles) stored in the tray. This is a solidly built unit and much different from the many cheaply-made magnetic sets on the market.This set did not improve my Chess performance, but it certainly helps me to do daily Puzzles.This set has my recommendation.

It's a great, cost effective, chess and Chinese checkers set for kids. Nothing fancy but the drawer has just enough friction to keep itself closed while kids are running around the house with it. The magnets keep everything on the chessboard so the kids are not knocking pieces all over the place. The drawer also comes with a plastic insert, which is difficult to remove by hand, but does a good job at keeping everything together. The board was slightly bowed out from being packed incorrectly, but I'm sure that's not the norm. I'd buy this again.

I got this set for my boys as they love chess, but are starting to pick up Chinese checkers too, so such a deal! The chess pieces are decent weighted and the magnetic element really helps when my 6yo is playing as he tends to be a bull in a china shop, so to speak. I love the storage tray and that is slides in fairly securely: one problem we tend to have is missing pieces from game sets. Absolutely recommend.

So with playing chest ., One must have a Sophisticated board right ♟ ♟ this is a gift to my son who also wanted to play Chinese checkers and I came across this and said Yes nonstop. There has been pretty serious (but friendly) chess/Chinese checkers going on lately and I love to have this to keep everyone’s mindset working and always figuring out their next move in general as well as with games.

Storage tray does not lock in place and slides out easily making very inconvenient for storing,

The media could not be loaded. This game set comes in a beautiful box, ready to be gifted. Upon opening, I was really pleased by the feel and finish of the wood. It looks beautiful, feels smooth, and the little drawer underneath slides in and out with ease. I opted to keep the clear tray in the drawer to keep the pieces tidy. The chess pieces are finished just as nice as the rest of the set and have fabric/felt on the bottoms.I find myself slightly disappointed in the Chinese checkers portion. The “marbles” are plastic, and there are holes cut-out for the pieces to sit on - there are also no color markings on the board. I suppose that’s mostly just a matter of preference because I’m just so used to traditional Chinese checkers game boards. It came as a surprise because the product photos didn’t represent that side very well.This set is still significantly better than most others out there and I’m quite pleased with it. I imagine it will last quite a long time in my family.

I don’t play chess or chequers but like the look of this product. I could quite easily just have it displayed as part of my decor given the look and quality of it.Your getting 2 games for the price. The actual box is made out of walnut which makes it look very attractive. I do also like the little storage door for keeping the alternate board game your not playing with.The magnetic element of the board is great so chess pieces don’t fall off or get lost hopefully and the extra pieces incase you loose any of the bits is perfect.A lot of thought has gone into the manufacturing and presentation of this item.The icing on the cake would have been inclusion of some simple instructions especially for the chequers as somebody like me who has no clue about either of the board games.A worthy gift for anyone who likes either of the board games.There is a £5 off voucher to be applied upon purchasing at the time of this review.I hope you found this review helpful

There is missing one castle and two extra queen

The “Wooden Chess and Chinese Checkers Set” from “OOCOME” is a nicely presented two-in-one wooden game set, with a chessboard on one side and a Chinese checkers board on the other.The set arrives in a lovely gift box, with “Xinliye” branding upon the top. Inside the box you have the wooden set, with the various pieces neatly stored away in the slide-out drawer.The pieces themselves are actually separated out on a cheap clear plastic tray within the wooden drawer. To be honest, this was quiet surprising, as it nice having the pieces stored away so neatly, but the cheap plastic tray isn’t really in keeping with the rest of the set.The chess pieces are all carved wooden pieces – not very detailed or anything, but satisfactory in my opinion, as far as a nice chess set goes. The Chinese checkers pieces are all a lightweight marble type of affair. Again, satisfactory but not exactly deluxe.The drawer section can slide out either side of the board, with little metal ball bearings providing a smooth motion for this.The chess pieces all have magnetic bases, keeping a good grip on the chessboard so as not to be easily knocked over or anything like that.The overall workmanship on the set is reasonably good. You can tell its more mass-produced than it is a handmade item. Nevertheless, is does look good and the walnut wood provides a somewhat elegant look to the chessboard.All in all I’m reasonably impressed with the set considering the very reasonable pricetag.
