Noodler's Ink Bay State Blue Bottled Ink Refill

..then you shall have blue.. With an almost legendary reputation and sporting an ocular assault level shade of blue, nothing is quite like it. As with most Noodlers inks, it is well lubricated and you get a generous amount. If you have heard of this ink you will probably know it may perhaps stain a bit. Actually that's a monumental understatement. Be careful using this and only use it in pens you also don't mind staining or treated with bleach afterwards. Some people have a pen set aside dedicated to using this ink only, so I wouldn't put it in your MB149... It can stain cloth, plastic, metal, ceramic, glass(!), stone, people, houses... you get the idea. Very nice colour though.

This ink is just fantastic, but be very carefull it is hard to get off your hands and other surfaces if you are a messy so and so when filling a pen like I was. but I am so pleased with the colour and the flow of this ink.

This evil bottle was filled all the way to the top and once I got it on my hands it was impossible to wash off completely (but skin sheds naturally so eventually it stopped staining my hands). It can also stain the (white porcelain) sink when you go to wash the pen. I found that the best best to get ink off skin and off surfaces is to put a little alcohol gel on the surface and wipe it around with a finger to disperse the ink, then wipe off the alcohol gel with a tissue before it dries to capture the ink onto the tissue. Water does nothing. Anyway, the review: This is a very striking blue ink that looks like the blue used on old HTML hyperlinks (the ones you find on old websites, not the new softer shades of blue now used on google search results) It really burns into your retina Once you adjust to it, other blue inks seem very soft and boring. You can no longer go back to using other blue inks, because they *pale* in comparison. It is waterproof once it dries.

I brought some of this ink after every single review claiming it has some super-bright neonness to it that makes it jump off the page. I wanted that powerful, bright hurts-your-eyes factor that everyone says it has. But that just wasn't there for me, I don't know if I just had an inconsistent bottle as I know Noodler's inks are all hand mixed but this just wasn't as bright as I had expected and that left me a little dissapointed, especially as it is so difficult to clean out of pens hence its new nickname 'BaySTAIN Blue'. It is however just a very nice colour which I will continue to use for everyday writing, it is a bright electric blue with a slight purple hint and is very saturated. After doing some dry chromatographs I have concluded that this is the most waterproof of the inks that I own even beating some rollerball inks. Update: The only unavoidable issue that I have had with this ink is that it feathers alot, after using it for about half a year I have found that it almost always feathers even on the best paper which is something not a single one of my other inks has done. This is the second Noodler's ink that I have owned and both have that nice almond oil like smell which also reminds me of the sweet smell of the aldehyde chemicals from chemistry class. I really enjoy this smell as well as the similar organic chemicaly smell of my Noodler's pen. Looking at my ink board if your looking for something bright and neon try Diamine Coral, it's not blue but it definitely stands out! Over all this is a very good ink, Pros: very nice colour, water resistance, smooth flow, somewhat scented. Cons: very good at staining almost anything, not as bright as reviewers claim. Very prone to feathering. Two sentences of caution: never mix with any other ink ever, the bottle is full to the absolute max so be careful when opening!

Fantastic colour! The brightest blue available. The only down side is that it really stains.. It is best if it is used with a cheap pen.

Great ink, but I paid £4 more as I wanted the white bottle, it comes in a glass bottle. I couldn’t return as I was running out of ink. The ink is fab though

The infamous bay state blue.. this is by far the best royal blue ink colour. The blue just pops out and it is a very intense bluish hue indeed. However it does stains demonstrator pens.. so if your planning on using it, stick to just one pen all the way.

Esta es una tinta muy controvertida, y por varios motivos. Es una tinta producida artesanalmente por Nathan Tardiff, por lo que sus propiedades pueden cambiar un poco de una botella a otra. Lo más interesante es saber que las tintas para estilográfica suelen ser de pH neutro. Las tradicionales permanentes eran ferrogálicas y de pH ácido. Ésta es básica y permanente, lo que hace que no se deba mezclar con otras y necesite tratarse con cuidado. Básicamente, es bastante permanente, aunque sensible a la luz UV, por lo que tenderá a teñir lo que toque. Al ser básica, hay que limpiarla con agua y lejía. Si tiñe la pluma (p.ej. las transparentes o las de pistón) normalmente se puede limpiar enjuagándola con agua y lejía (unas gotas). Si se mezcla con otras tintas lo normal será que forme una sal que precipite y obstruya la pluma: eso quiere decir que lo mejor es no cambiar de tinta o limpiar la pluma a fondo con agua antes de cambiar a otra tinta. Ten cuidado al abrir el frasco la primera vez: va lleno hasta el borde, así que mejor hacerlo sobre un paño que no te importe que se manche (nunca se sabe qué jugarretas te va a hacer la presión atmosférica), aunque eso es algo que siempre conviene hacer cuando uno manipula una estilográfica. Y deja el frasco siempre bien cerrado si no quieres tener que tirar de lejía. Un último consejo: tiende a dispersarse y calar el papel, pero es un azul muy saturado. En mi experiencia, si se diluye al 80% en agua (8 partes de tinta y 2 de agua), la tinta fluye mejor y se comporta muchísimo mejor sobre el papel sin que se afecte el color. Con esas precauciones, uno no debería de tener problemas. Y a cambio obtiene un azul que hace palidecer a todos los demás, un azul eléctrico sin igual. Lo he comparado con muchos otros (Waterman, Parker, Cross, Sheaffer, Koh-i-Noor, Montblanc, Organics Studio, Diamine, etc...) y por mucho que se parezcan, en cuanto uno los pone uno al lado del otro, todos palidecen a su lado. Es un azul luminoso y vibrante. O sea, que si es lo que buscas, genial. Si lo que quieres es un azul-negro, o un color "aburrido" y que no llame la atención, entonces hay muchos otros azules que te irán mejor. Si lo que quieres es un azul que no deje lugar a dudas de su carácter, pruébalo. Te sorprenderá.

Ilisé dans un stylo plume à piston et dans un eye dropper. Une teinte fabuleuse ma préférée. Pleine, lumineuse je ne peux plus m'en passer. Par contre teinte un peu les corps des demonstrators. Dédier un stylo à celle-ci. Un wing sung 3008 sera parfait ou un moonman m2. Encore mieux un noodlers ahab. Ne craint pas trop le temps elle est encore bien présente après des éclaboussures... attention elle n'est pas effaçable. Le flacon est bien rempli et elle tâche bien. Mais superbe encre je recommande. Et ait hâte d'en racheter. Seul l'emballage de transport était juste. Il aurait pu y avoir perte ou casse. D'ailleurs cela m'est arrivé pour un autre flacon.
