Given that cats can squeeze their bodies up like a concertina, do you reckon this would work for keeping out a chihuahua?

No. I have a British shorthair cat that is bigger than my yorkie puppy. I didn’t buy it to keep dog away from litter as cat has a top entry cat litter box. I am using on my back door to garden to keep it firmly ajar so both can enter and exit the house (no cat flap) without the wind taking the door off!

Could I easily remove it and reattach it again when I move house?

The Door Buddy is stuck to the door - I suppose you could remove it and re-glue but it is not designed for this. Ours came off and was re-glued so not impossible.

As it attaches with strong adhesive, I imagine it would damage paintwork on removal, but not the actual door as no screws are needed.

Does it prevent the door from fully closing?

It prevents the door from fully opening. The room gets aired but dogs can’t get into the room.
