BT Essentials Wi-Fi Extender 300

This works really well with my BT Home Hub 6 and together provides strong, fast wifi throughout the house and garden. Easy to set up and very cheap to buy, I really can't fault it.

This has amazed us for the price. Did lots of research and really thought it was going to be difficult to solve our problem. We have a Victorian house with thick walls. Our BT router is right at one end of the house in the lounge and I wanted a signal at the other end which is approx 27 metres away and through 3 walls. I plugged it in halfway initially but it was too close! its now 3/4 of the way and I get a full signal even across the garden and also upstairs at the other end of the house. VERY easy to set up. VERY happy.

Being a refurbished product I've had mixed emotions purchusing this product. Arrived promptly and well packed and in all original packaging undamaged.Installation is easy with instructions being very clear.I've positioned this product furthest away possible from my main router in my 3 bedroom house.I have my fibre router in my living room in the corner next to the window facing the street/front garden. So, the only possible way was to position this extender right opposite in the room on the other side of the house which is 10m straight line away thinking that will be far enough and it'll boost my internet in the back garden.Sadly that wasn't the case as the light was flashing meaning it was not positioned far enough and thus won't work.Make sure your house is of a desired length/size for where your furthest plug is available as if you don't have the distance needed between your router and extender, it just won't work.Just to explain that I've visited my friends bungalow, where he has his furthest plug away from router in desired distance and it worked, which means that it does the job.I've had to return the product and have I since managed to acquire a suitable extender for my needs.

This is excellent. Took about 2 minutes to set up.Now I have Wifi in the garage.Really simple, really effective, really happy.

Bought a refurbished one, no issues with it at all.My router is downstairs and I use it upstairs - diagonally across from the router so at the further point away in the house.Easy to set up, good coverage, reliable connection and good speeds.

Tried over 10 times this morning to set it up, does not work via WPS button so tried it the online way as per the instructions, it says its meant to change your wifi routers name with an EXT at the beginning and you then connect to that but it will NOT change the name of the wifi router, it is an absolute waste of time. We have a Talk Talk router.

Contrary to all expectations, after reading articles about extenders in the magazines, it works perfectly!!My laptop is getting on a bit, about 7 years old, and the wifi pickup has lost it's sensitivity. This was a last attempt to avoid buying a new one and it worked.

Setup is easy and all works OK, until you try using a device. It seems to be because the channel is the same as the router. If I update the router, it works perfectly, but eventually (couple of days) the extender also updates to the new channel and my devices lock up again. Managed to access the extender to get into the settings, but there is no facility to change the WiFi channel to stop it clashing with the router. If you are out of range of the router, then all is OK, but if you are withing range of both the extender and the router - it's game over!. For info, you can change the name of the extender in the settings, which is a bonus.
