I liked the unique idea of taking the heater out of the.tank as soon as I saw it. It was also an established brand and was a size which could neatly fit behind my tank. However I was put off by the reviews which said it was difficult to achieve 25 degrees in the tank water. However after viewing many other filters, I discovered a video from an aquarist company which explained the problem of temperature. Basically many people use a thermometer stuck to the outside of the glass which measure the glass temperature not the water. I bought an internal thermometer and the filter and temperature was spot on. Bonus is the filter is very easy to set up. Just stand it in a container for spilt water when you clean it. My tank will now be cleaned more frequently and is much tidier. Oase you just need to include a uv light now

Really delighted with this filter for one of my small (50 litre) tanks. Sett up is reasonably straightforward. It doesn't self prime from initial set up or after maintenance so the easiest way to do it is to remove the end of the inlet hose from the filter, suck until it starts to syphon, and quickly reattach. You can either have the heater in the filter or, if you'd rather have more media, use it separately. Once running and free of air, the filter is whisper quiet. Overall, it's excellent.

I’m very disappointed in this filter. It struggles to maintain temperatures above 24C and the flow is very weak. I would not recommend this filter and will be replacing mine as soon as I am able.

I bought the smaller Thermo 100 for a 70 litre aquarium. As other have pointed out the bio media is not bagged and just put around the heater which will be annoying come cleaning time. I bought some filter media bags to put the supplied media in and make it easier to clean. Also the Thermo 100 does not come with a active carbon filter, even though it is mentioned in the instruction booklet that it can be used - again separately bought carbon and filter bags solved that. Like another reviewer mentioned I used Ehiem shut of valves to make changing the filter easier with less water spillage. The heater which goes in the filter is easy to set and works well. On the positive the inlet and outlet fixings have flow control valves on them which is good. I have set mine to have way to start. Priming the filter going can be a bit messy as you have to remove the heater fill the filter canister with water to the top and then reattach the heater. Which inevitably results in a small amount of water overflowing. Once done and switched on the unit noise level quickly ( within a few minutes as excess air is expelled ) reduces to a gentle hum. Not silent but quite enough not to be noticeable. The unit keeps my aquarium at the required temperature so that is a positive, plus there is not heater in the tank itself helps add to the natural look. So overall there are few annoyances to the unit but works well.

Works brilliantly on my 60p, plenty of media included and set up well. Heater seems to work well as temperature in tank is stable. The flow it produces is perfect for my aquarium

I actually saw people on YouTube talking about and using these filters and they said they were really good plus the addition of the heater in the filter is awesome so no longer have a big long glass tube in middle of the tank and helps to make the tank even more natural for the fish as for the filter it’s self it’s working great my water was clear or so I thought beforehand but now it’s crystal clear very impressive filter comes with two bags of carbon 3 sponge and ceramic rings all fits perfectly in it’s own space in the filter and easy to clean and change anything around add or reduce the filter media as you like but the basic filter as it comes is more then enough

Initially on set up this a fantastic external filter for an aquarium, my sons tank is 250 litres. The ongoing issue is how quickly it gets clogged up and has to be cleaned at least every 2-3 weeks. Make no mistake it is a very powerful and reliable filter and keeps the water crystal clear, it is just frustrating how often it needs sorting out. The filters are in the correct places as per instructions so all good. I would definitely recommend this external filter just be advised it may need clearing out regularly. Excellent value for money for the job it does, bit of mixed review but still working fine.

Terrible instructions. Wouldn't suck water through inlet, had to go and google what was the issue. I wasted at least 2 hours trying to finally get it to work. Not sure why it just didnt work straight up like my other Oase filters do, connect hoses, plug and prime. Filtosmart way to fiddly. Frustrating!!

Leider bekam ich das Gerät mit englischen Steckern geliefert, sodass es unbrauchbar ist für das deutsche Stromnetz. Es war lediglich die Rede von kleinen Abweichungen, aber nicht in dieser Form. Ansonsten war Lieferung und Verpackung tadellos.

Parfait pour mon aquarium de 60 litres. Je vous conseille de prendre ce modèle car le chauffage est inclus. Juste une chose à prévoir une multi prise anglaise car les prises du filtre et du chauffage sont anglaise. Je vous conseille d'ajouter d'autres types de média filtrant. Pour ma part j'ai opté pour de la pierre ponce en fillet. Pour le reste tout est fourni : tuyau, buse d'injection d'eau et buse d'aspiration.

Hi Amazon Support, Thank you for your call last night. I apologise for not being able to take it at around 21:00. Due to unexpected fish losses, I was unable to wait any longer for a resolution and have had Australian electrical plugs fitted to both the filter and heater units so that I could restore the aquarium immediately. As an additional note, the hose and clamp fittings supplied with the unit cannot be fully secured. This may require review or replacement, as they do not tighten sufficiently to form a reliable seal.
