Pet Mate Top Entry Litter Pan

Bought this a few weeks ago and both my cats took to it immediately. I did a lot of research online before I took the plunge to buy a top entry box but I'm so happy with it, I bought another (more expensive one unfortunately). When this one arrived, I put it out but also I left their old-style litter box out for them as well, for a week, so they could get used to the change gradually but they never once went back to the old one.The main reason I bought the top entry is because I re-homed a Sphynx cat a few years ago and she is sometimes a 'high sprayer' (which is apparently common among some breeds, including Sphynx), which meant when she goes in the old-style box, she would often spray a little up the side walls of the box, or even, if she was just inside the door, it might end up outside the box or on the door. And of course, I could not get rid of the smell without a full wash out of the litter, which I don't want to do every time.So, this is the reason I bought the top entry and it has fully solved the problem of my 'high sprayer' cat and I couldn't be happier.On top of this, there are 2 more advantages that I have found:1. the box itself is way easier to get access to and clean; and2. the top of the box has little holes so after my cats jump out, the pebbles stay on top/fall through the holes, so overall there is less litter tracking/pebbles on my floors.

From my point of view this is a great item, saves litter tracking and can be filled with a massive amount of litter that hasn’t needed changing as regularly (apart from scooping the solids) hardly any smell until you go digging around... from the cats point of view, he’s told me there is no way he’s going through the little hole in the lid so don’t even think of putting it on... so the compromise has been, get a little stool for the cat to sit on whilst he gazes into the litter box with fascination, occasionally pulling large pieces of the wooden cat litter out with his paw to play with and chase around the house (that’s how I know it’s cleaner and fresher than my old litter pan) All in all a success even though the cat has effectively chosen how he will use it and he now has a little stool in the bathroom so he can watch humans use the toilet in a judgemental way! My cat is 13 years old and quite stubborn, a younger cat would probably have no issue with the lid on

Apppers not much differrent to any plastic box exept the invention is in the lid where the cats enter and the many holes return the litter to the box. A little expensive for what is is but then it does do what you want in that there is much much less litter on the floor to stand in or have to sweep up everytime your near the litter tray, so for that alone it is worth buying. Height wise it is as tall as your loo so should be accessible to most cats once they work out what it is for. We used the old litter box next door for about a week until all 3 cats had been seen popping into the new box. Would buy again.

This is a good litter box and all my cats (3 4 month old kittens and a 14 year old cat) took to it instantly. I bought another one. It is very easy to just lift the lid and scoop, and easy to clean. There is ample space and the hole at the top is big enough for a large cat. I would suggest a good deep layer of litter, at least 3 inches, and there is very little smell if you scoop regularly. It definitely reduces the amount of tracked and scattered litter, not totally eradicated but much better.

Brilliant product, should have bought one ages ago!!! I have 3 cats, but only one uses the box and I was concerned she wouldn't find the opening. Never underestimate the intelligence of our animals as she went straight in and used it and she is an older cat!!! Also no more pellets all over the floor. I never knew these existed until recently. Well worth buying this litter box. Delivery was quick as well.

I like the size, I like the top entry style. I don't like the lid as its very flimsy and comes off its hinges every time I open it to scoop the poop.wouldn't buy again.

I love this! I have a cat who, despite the vet finding nothing wrong with her, 5 years into her life decided she doesn’t like squatting when she pees. With normal boxes, the pee goes straight out leaving a mess for me. With this one, no mess! I had one for years before this one that never broke down. Only replaced it because I moved across the ocean and it would have cost much more to ship it. I find it quite easy to clean, the top comes right off for easy access. Definitely recommend!

Got this as I've changed my cage set up and my rats no longer have a deep base tray with substrate for digging. I got them this as a replacement digging outlet as it is a good size and tall enough to not spray the coco soil everywhere, I'm hoping the lid helps too! It's nice and spacious for lots of little paws and should provide many hours of digging fun

Finalmente ho risolto definitivamente il problema della Sabbietta che con le tradizionali lettiere spargevano per tutto il pavimento del bagno, avendo poi 3 gatti con esigenze diverse sono riuscita a conciliare tutti in quella essendo ben capiente. Prima dovevo ricorrere a due lettiere.

Súper práctica. Se limpia fácil y controla que la arena se salga con facilidad. A mi gata le gusto desde el día 1.

Nachdem eine meiner beiden Katzen beim bisherigen Trixie-Katzenklo öfter über den Rand der nach vorn gehenden Öffnung gestrullt hat, habe ich ein Klo mit höherem Rand gesucht und bin dabei zufällig auf dieses Top-Entry gestoßen. Bestellt und nach dem Eintreffen für eine Woche neben das alte Klo gestellt - Favorit blieb das alte Teil. Dann das alte entfernt und beide Katzen sind problemlos umgestiegen. Seither kein Katzenpipi mehr auf den Fliesen und eine Reduzierung der herumfliegenden Streus um 90 %. Da die Öffnung ja oben ist, kann man auch mehr Streu reinfüllen, so dass der Urin weniger durchsuppt - bei 2 Katzen muss ich das Streu (kein Klumpstreu) nur alle 4, spätestens 5 Tage wechseln. Reinigung ist easy, die Oberfläche scheint weniger schnell zu zerkratzen, als beim Trixie - vielleicht weil weniger agressiver Urin durchsuppt. Geruch kommt auf's gleiche raus, da ich beim alten Klo eh Tür und Filter entfernen musste. Ich bin 100 % zufrieden und würde dieses Katzenklo so wieder kaufen!

【2023年3月追記】2匹目の為に、同じトップエントリーのアイリスオーヤマのトイレを買ったので比較です。アイリスの方は、フタの開け閉めが、ボタンみたいなのを押したり、はめるのも難しく、非常に手間で、結構なストレスです。それに対してこちらのフタは、ポンと上に乗せるだけの構造なので、スッと取り外してポンと閉められます。やっぱりこちら、買って良かった！【2021年3月追記】90Lごみ袋がぴったりはまるので、２重にかぶせた上に猫砂を入れています。交換がものすごーく楽です。あと↓に、底が丸くないからすくいづらいと書きましたが、かぶせたごみ袋のシワの方がもっとすくいづらいので、底のボコボコとかはどうでもよくなって気にならなくなりました笑）砂のちらばり、匂いはほぼ解決してしまいました。（常陸加工の木製猫砂との組み合わせです）改めて、星を５にして、オシャレだしおすすめします！【↓以前書いたレビュー】散らばった猫砂にいつも悩まされていたので、上から入るタイプについに挑戦しました。案外すんなり使ってくれるもんですね。そして本当に猫砂の散らばりのストレスは解消されて、変えて良かったです。輸入雑貨らしいデザインでいいなと思ってこれにしたのですが（イギリス製？）、１点、使いづらい点が。今まで使っていたアイリスオーヤマのハーフトップのトイレが、底がつるっと丸くてシャベルですくいやすかったのですが、これは底面の一部にボコッと飛び出た部分があり、これがシャベルにひっかかってとてもすくいづらいです。底が四角く平らなので角っこの方の砂もすくいづらく、汚れた砂の見落としが度々あります。底面の丸さってこんなにも重要だったんだなぁと実感してます。あとフタの固定がゆるいとレビューしている方がいらっしゃいますが、多分これはあえて外れやすくしてますね。うちは毎回フタの上に結構砂がこぼれているので、パッと外れてサッと中に砂を落とし、またパッと付けられるこの構造はとても使いいいです。フタの上にも砂が散ってしまう場合には、このフタの外れやすさは重要です。だからと言ってフタが下に落ちることはないので、私はむしろよく出来ていると思います。トップエントリーでも底面が丸いものがあればそれがベストだと思いますが、デザイン面ではオシャレな男性なんかは特に好みそうな感じなので、デザイン面との折り合いかなと思います。
