THE ACTUAL INSIDE DIMENSIONS WITHOUT THE LID ARE 29mm long, 21mm wide & 21mm high. Hope this helps.

Please what is the height with lid in cm? Can this fit 8kg or 4kg of whole cashew nuts? Is it safe just to hold by handle when full?

The height of the lid is 1 cm thick. I use mine to store dry cat food and a 10kg bag fits perfectly in two containers. The lid/handle is strong when clipped in properly and has never failed in all the years I've had these - well worth purchasing.

Would this container stop soup spilling out if I were to transport the soup via car?

Yes, it should be fine - obviously keep the container upright. I may not risk carrying it if full with hot soup with just the handle however just in case. I've used mine for years for cat biscuits and the handle is perfectly ok with this weight (dry 5kg).
