These were bought as a gift and the recipient is very pleased with them. On a personal basis I think the locking latch is somewhat clumsy in operation and the return spring mechanism that opens the secateurs could be more robust. I have used Japanese secateurs that feel better in the hand with a smoother action and at a slightly lower price. These Opinel ones, cut cleanly and do look very attractive.

Beautifully sharp but doesn’t open wide enough to cut larger shrubs

Great blades, poor design. Closure catch very difficult to use with one hand.
