If used externally it does have to be overcoated with a weatherproof stain, paint or varnish as it is not waterproof. **Q: Can this be used on garden sleepers?** A: Depends where they are. If being newly installed and then over-coated before installation it would probably be OK. I've used this before in my other house and it seems really good. Very easy to apply.
