Used these for oil-based gloss and they made a beautiful job of it!
These are easily the best paintbrushes I've ever used, and if anything ever happened to my set I would buy another straight away. :)I was repainting my front door (Dulux oil-based undercoat and oil-based gloss topcoat) and wanted to make it look really beautiful and mirror-smooth. After a bit of research I selected these brushes - and all I can say is that if you have never used brushes of this quality before, you are in for a big surprise! The paint goes on very easily and dries to a perfect, smooth, glassy finish. I'm only an average DIYer, but these brushes have made the door look like it was painted by a professional. They're not cheap but they will give you a lifetime's use; much cheaper than buying ordinary brushes and throwing them away at the end of the job, and the finish is spectacular!

Best brushes on the market
These XL monarch elite brushes are amazing, they don't need breaking in, they are the perfect combination of firm and springy but they're also soft and pick up paint really well. I highly recommend these because if ya use Cheap brushes ya get a cheap finish... So buy these.

Good brushes
Long time pro - user. They were never a cheap option and they are not getting any less pricy!Make sure you pick the version for either oil based or water based paint.Any abuse ( drying paint / poor storage. and they do not clean well. But, they do leave a noticeably better finish than cheaper brushes. Don’t waste them on gates, railings or similar - or paint that requires specificbrush cleaner / thinner.

Where to start with these beauties?
We have just moved into a new house and it needs renovating.Wanting to keep the money for renovations rather than spend it on getting a decorator, I decided to do the painting myself. My husband said 'I give it half a day before you're ringing someone to do this,' but he was completely wrong.I've gone from hating painting, to really enjoying it and, bizarrely, finding it quite therapeutic with these brushes. I even did a Facebook post espousing the positive qualities of these brushes! Paired with a decent paint (I highly recommend Benjamin Moore or Lakeland Paints especially if you want paints that do not stink and have excellent eco credentials) they are a dream to use.Because I like the brushes so much I'm much more inclined to actually clean them after use rather than declaring myself knackered, in need of wine and takeaway, and letting them fester in their own filth.

Decent set of brushes
I am a professional DIYer and have learnt my lesson and always ensure to get the 'best' tools for the job (that my money can buy)...otherwise DIYing can be a very stressful, strenuous job/hobby. I've used Harris brushes before and have found them very efficient and more than upto the task in hand. I've knocked 1 star off because I have used another leading brand which I found the bristles to be far superior, but superior comes at a price. Note.. always clean the brushes properly for longevity.

Only brushes I ever use
Unlike cheaper brands of brush Purdys leave a smooth streak less finish. I have used this brand for many years and haven't found anything better. Keep them clean and they will last a long time.

Paint brushes
My husband loves these paint brushes recommended by a decorator. They are great for cutting in and don’t leave loose bristles behind.

Excellent brushes
The minute I took the brushes out of the box and flexed the brisltes I new the quality was going to be good. The next thing I tried was to compare them with no paint with my other brushes and the feedback from the Purdy brushes was excellent. I then tried them with Farrow and Ball: Dulux trade eggshell and Crown trade gloss. The brush material held the paint really well and paint did not creep down the bristles. The paint flowed off the bristles in a smooth and precise way, leaving virtually no trace of brush marks.Top quality and worth the extra money. Buy them and try them...you should not be disappointed.
