Philips Avent SCD506/05 DECT Baby Monitor with Night Light and Lullabies

Unable to switch on music for parent unit. Excellent sound quality

This didn't meet our needs, the sound was far too quiet even on maximum sound and sensitivity. It kept cutting out and despite reading reviews and asking the question we could not get constant monitoring as it kept going silent. It has an ECO mode where it does this to save energy and I was told there was an option to turn this off but we cant figure that out. Really not happy so will be sending it back. I for one do not want my baby monitor going into silent just because baby is sleeping, I want to hear all of the time...seems that's too much to ask for since all these motors have moved over to DECT technology. Very disappointing.

I enjoy using this baby monitor, works well, catches even small baby noises, long enough charging cable. Very pleased with this purchase .

I bought this to replace a Tomy monitor which was no longer charging. It has not been a good purchase. As it doesn't constantly transmit the noise from the baby's room, when baby does make a noise you get a horrible static, white noise through the monitor before you hear them crying. Despite the fact we are only through a partition wall from the baby, often we hear her crying through the wall before the monitor even picks it up and it also randomly stops transmitting even mid crying. A glass pressed against the wall would be just as efficient. I chose this because it had a nightlight and other features however the night light is pathetic and the lullabies tinny. I have given it two stars because the battery has a decent life but generally as a monitor it leaves a lot to be desired.

At first we were really happy with this item, it worked perfectly fine for couple months. No issue what so ever. Then, however, it does not always come on when baby cries, we can hear little one crying in his room but the monitor stays silent. Both units are connected (green light, not beeping and searching for signal) and sensitivity is set to the highest possible. I have to turn it off and on again and then it's working fine again. This doesn't happen very often but since then we can't rely and fully trust this monitor anymore. Therefore I can't recommend it. What a shame, it seemed like one of the best item I ever purchased.

Took this for a holiday.Range is great and worked from about 60m and 3/4 wallsSound quality is good enough to hear a baby cry, I don't need something crazy on that front.

Started off ok but sometimes for no reason the signal just drops off which isnt good when its 4:30am and its beeping for no reason
