The Source Ltd 4 in 1 Educational Motorized Robot Kit

I bought this for an 8 year old and so far it's still in it's box. Every time he's taken it out to make a start on it he gets frustrated because the instructions are too confusing. I've sat down to study them and I find them confusing too. Each plastic board is marked A, B and C and each individual part is numbered. However there are 3 packets which aren't marked or numbered. It becomes confusing which part is needed as one minute the instructions are referring to A1 or A2 but the next it's referring to P3. As there is nothing to say which is P3, just a line drawing, it soon becomes confusing. The set actually looks pretty good and fun to make if only the instructions were clearer. A photo rather than a line drawing might be more helpful and numbering all parts would make things less frustrating. My 8 year old is desperate to see the finished article but ends up getting too frustrated, as do I. If you don't have a basic understanding of gears and other such things, then this kit will confuse rather than educate.

Excellent kit for assembling a number of robots. Instructions are clear and the components fit together properly ensuring that the model works. Young boy for whom it was purchased was really pleased with the gift but although it says suitable for 9 years + he did need quite a lot of help from his dad. That said the assembly was really enjoyable and satisfying for both of them and I'm sure the lad enjoying learning how it was assembled.

I was aware this was a pre loved item but no where in the description did the seller state there were missing pieces. Total waste of money and disappointed child on Christmas morning because we couldn't build this!

I bought this as an incentive with the idea being that the better the effort / behaviour of the child concerned the more pieces he would be able to choose. Nice kit at fair price. Would suit 8 - 11year olds.
