Impressively professional finish - dead easy to use
Bought this to repaint a black Weber BBQ that is at least 10 years old. The lid had oxidised over several winters, and whilst working perfectly fine, was looking a little ropey. I've never repainted a BBQ, or indeed painted with spray before. Step 1: Cleaned BBQ using soapy water Step 2: Wire wool'd the areas I was going to repaint. Step 3: Used masking tape on areas I did not want repainted (logo etc) Step 4: Shook can and sprayed. I'm seriously impressed with the result (see photo) - the finish after ONE coat was Matt and professional. I'm genuinely struggling to believe just how professional looking the finish is on the lid itself. The side supports were damaged beyond what scrubbing/painting can do, but the paint did make it look more than reasonable. I'm planning on a second coat this weekend. Strongly recommend use of a face mask when using this paint. To test it out, I let my BBQ run to heat (300c) for 30 mins - and the paint has neither cracked, melted, changed or affected the BBQ in any way (note: I only did the outside). If you are looking for a way to refresh a BBQ, don't hesitate. 6 pounds has rejuvenated an old BBQ, and will hopefully keep it chugging for many further years to come.

Good paint, poor can
The paint looks great and is very to apply. For all but the smallest stoves, you'll probably go though two cans. They are not, as these things go, overly expensive for what they are. However, the nozzle is incredibly flimsy where the button meets the valve of the can. I ended up using three cans (I had quite a bit of fire hardware to paint) and two of those had to be replaced because the nozzle was broken on arrival (or possibly by the action of removing the cap, hard to say). Amazon are amazing for returns and the cans were replaced immediately, but it was a pain to have to interrupt the painting each time.

Good quality heat-resistant paint with a smart matte finish
This stove and BBQ spray paint works well and gives a clean black matte finish. It applies evenly and adheres nicely to metal surfaces, making it suitable for stoves, BBQs, and other high-temperature areas. Coverage is good, although a couple of light coats give the best result. Once cured, the finish looks tidy and durable. Overall, a reliable heat-resistant spray paint that performs well and gives a professional-looking finish.

Does the job!
Used this on my BBQ and it was great! I’m not the best at spraying an even coat but even for an amateur like me, it hid the rusty areas very nicely. It did take some prep time to remove the rust as much as possible but was pretty chuffed with the outcome!

Good as a rust cover, not so much as a paint.
Used on an old smoker BBQ I'm restoring for the summer which has been sat for around 20 years exposed to the elements. This did an amazing job of covering the light rust on the dome lid, restoring it to look like new almost, with just a single coat. All I did was give it a light wire brush first. However on the rest of the BBQ the paint hasn't achieved anything. The current colour of the BBQ is not matt black, it is a slightly off blue colour due to sun bleaching over the years. I gave it 2 coats and from the difference it made, it looks like I'd just sprayed it with water as there's zero difference. The paint is quite thin. I tried spraying on some previously unpainted (but primed) metal and it just gives a very light watery coat. Like a very watered down version of other metal spray paints I've used. Interestingly the WD40 I used to douse some rusty bolts has restored the paint better than the paint itself. Where the WD40 has run down the BBQ it has left a deep black colour. The painted areas are still an off blue. So it's a mixed bag. It worked a treat covering and returning the rusted orange patches back to a dark colour, but where the BBQ wasn't rusted it seems to have done nothing at all. Just as a comparison, I restored an outdoor metal light fixture (one of those lantern style ones). It had been sun bleached to a navy blue colour. One coat of hammerite gave it an amazing deep black satin finish which still looks new after nearly 5 years. Unfortunately I couldn't use that on the BBQ due to the lack of heat resistance. Also be aware, at the point I ordered there was an option to purchase 2 cans (which I did). However the "2" option is more expensive than buying 2 of the single items, I guess due to different suppliers.

Our old metal fire pit looks like new again 😁
This has made our 6 year old metal fire pit come up looking like new. Very easy to spray on outside and a non-windy day. I did two coats and it was plenty. We then had a fire pit night the evening of the day I sprayed it, to cure the paint. Just read the instructions on the can and you can’t go wrong. It’s given our fire pit a lovely Matt finish and covered all the rust patches. It looks like it’s just looks like it’s come a show room. We have used it a couple of times since spraying it and taking the photos.
