It only take a couple weeks of daily use for the finish to wear off of the high points. I take the pocket clip off as soon as it comes out of the box because they fall off almost immediately without thread lock. I buy a new one about every year after I inevitably brake it or lose it but that's actually what I like about it. It's totally dependable enough for me to trust it for daily use but when it finally does go missing or I leave it in my pocket and put it in the washing machine I'm not upset to just have a new one ordered. The downside is it doesn't come with a battery so you will need to get your own 18650 battery which I didn't know when I bought it. I had some so it wasn't a big deal but if you don't already have them then its important to know. You also have to take the battery out to charge it in separate charger. That is a bit of a down side but a great light for 20 dollars.
