SuttonsClimbing French Bean Seeds - Blue Lake

I tried this variety of climbing French Bean this year but it was a disaster. The seeds germinated well enough, the plants looked healthy and climbed successfully up the cane supports to a height of around 2 metres. However, they simply did not flower at all and all I got for my time and effort was some vegetation to put on the compost heap. I am a gardener with over 40 years of experience and this summer have had a very good crop of other varieties of French bean, runner beans, garden peas, mangetout peas, courgettes, sweetcorn and outdoor tomatoes, so I do not think I am being unfair in assuming that the Blue Lake seeds were the problem.

We are harvesting loads of the at the moment. July

Well, they arrived, they are in pots and we'll see what happens. I've not got a great track record with veggies but I'll do my best.
