Excellent product at excellent price
Was getting around 40°c idle using stock intel cooler and switched to the thermalright Assassin X 120 SE and got 25°c idle! It super quiet at 500 rpm on idle. Under load at 90% CPU utilisation the fan was only at 1100 rpm on 60-ish °c. Recommend especially for the price huge difference from stock cooler and easy to install as well!

Thermalright Assassin X120 Refined SE CPU Air Cooler
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Budget Cooler That Punches Above Its Weight I recently installed the Thermalright Assassin X120 Refined SE on my AMD AM4 build, and I’m genuinely impressed by what this cooler delivers at such a low price point. 🔧 Installation & Build Quality Setup was straightforward, even for a mid-range builder like me. The mounting hardware felt solid, and the cooler itself has a clean, compact design that fits easily in most mid-tower cases. The fan clips are a bit flimsy, but once secured, everything holds up well. 🌬️ Cooling Performance With its 4 copper heatpipes and the TL-C12C PWM fan, this cooler keeps my Ryzen 5 5600X running cool under load. Idle temps hover around 32°C, and even during gaming or rendering, it rarely crosses 70°C. For a single-tower cooler, that’s impressive. 🔇 Noise Levels The TL-C12C fan is whisper-quiet. It’s barely audible over my case fans even when ramping up under stress. If you’re building a quiet rig, this cooler won’t disappoint. 💸 Value for Money At under £20, this is one of the best value air coolers available. It won’t compete with high-end dual-tower beasts, but for most users—especially budget-conscious builders—it’s more than enough. ✅ Pros • Great thermal performance for the price • Low noise levels • Easy installation • Compatible with AMD AM4/AM5 and Intel sockets • Sleek, unobtrusive design ❌ Cons • Fan clips could be sturdier • No RGB (if that matters to you) 📦 Final Verdict If you're looking for a reliable, quiet, and affordable air cooler for your AMD setup, the Assassin X120 Refined SE is a no-brainer. It’s proof that you don’t need to spend a fortune to get solid cooling performance.

Don't need anything more!
All Thermalright coolers seem to be the same, brilliant bang for your buck! The white and the ARGB looks fab and is easily controllable with its universal 3 pin ARGB connector. Performance level is good and will cool any medium wattage CPU with ease. On its PWM setting its very quiet and the whole cooler is extremely easy to install with its included instructions. 5 stars!

Well priced and reasonable performance
It has price going for it for sure, and it has some RGB, and its white. If that's what you are looking for and have a not too high TDP CPU then this is a good choice. Mounting bracket is a little fiddly and helps if you can have a second set of hands but its otherwise very functional and holds the cooler in place just fine as you would want it to! The RGB isn't quite as "smooth" under motion or diffused as other competitor fans along the fans blades but, the price of this.. Running the fan above 50% and it starts to get a little too loud for me but again, price.. Fitted to a 65W TDP CPU (AMD 2600) I had to adjust the fan curve as this fan starts to get a little loud past 50%, but its the kind of dull "air wooshing" noise (that still annoys me) but it does a significantly better job than the stock AMD Wraith Stealth that it replaced. In a 25C room seeing 35-37C Idle. On a 30+ Mins Prime 95 run and didnt see anything above 57C, and fan speeds stayed at my 35% speed threshold set in BIOS and leveled out just fine. Paste used for my testing was SYY-157.

Great cooling block and fan set
Great cooler and fan set. Comes with thermal paste and with all necessary parts for 3 different mounting types. Mounting the cooling block was easy. However, the instructions provided weren’t the best and was difficult to see how the fan is clipped to the cooling block. I had to turn to YouTube for a short tutorial on this.

Nice nice - Super good
It's super good. Now my CPU idles at 37 degrees c instead of 50c, (when I used the stockcooler). If you also have the stock cooler atm, it's definetly working switching asap, when I took mine off I could see that even my thermal paste was dusty an not well done, and that could be from the amount of time it had been on (a few years). This cpu cooler is silent, the fan doesn't even need to spin. I've not tested it through heavy workloads yet, but I can tell that it's going to stay cool. I'll leave an an update if it does ever start to get noisy, but I realised my gpu is the most noisy part now. Installing the cooler, it did take me a bit of energy, preparation, and time, but it was enjoyable and very easy. The pay off was definetely worth it.
