This is the nub.: As long as your cooling system is in good working order, you should have no problems. However, to get the best out of the wetting agent, you have to replace all the current coolant with it. As this fluid is expensive, any leak will be costly. I ran a L-R Discovery MPI with a similar agent without any problems. Classic Minis can suffer from overheating problems because their design was dictated by their size - most modern FWD cars have forward-facing radiators. I have classic 1967 Rover, it’s fine for that, with blue col antifreeze. I flushed the radiator first, then added blucol and water with 3 caps of water wetter. However your car is more modern and it may need a different quantity.

Can you add directly to antifreeze solution in the car?

Yes, you can add Water Wetter to your current antifreeze. Use about 1/3 of a bottle for 5 litres of antifreeze solution.
