The pole is very sturdy. Comes with a pouch to protect the pole
The pole is very sturdy. Comes with a pouch to protect the pole. On land the pole works great. Looks great. However my first time using the pole was underwater in a pool. And now the first adjustment of the pole doesn't extend smoothly. I had to use a lot of force to push it in a pull it out. The pole will sink underwater. Perfectly fine. It does not say it floats just letting everyone know it sinks. And sinks fast! The only issue I have with this pole is that it is not extending as smooth as when I first bought it. This was only after one use. For 10$ more maybe consider getting the sandmarc metal edition. This pole is very similar. Also with the metal adapter. Not a bad pole. It would be awesome if I didn't have this issue. That's why I give 3 stars. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I originally gave this product 3 stars but I am now changing it to 5! Great customer service, I contacted the company to let them know the pole was not extending smooth and they sent me another one within 2 days no questions asked. Apparently my first pole was defective. The second pole seems to be working just fine out of the box, I have yet to use it with my GoPro. Great Customer Service though, definitely finishes off the product. The pole is very sturdy, no camera shake whats so ever. Be careful though because on my first pole, I almost lost my go pro because the tip of the pole where the go pro attaches became loose and almost unscrewed off completely(The little adapter, probably going to glue it in) . Good thing I noticed! Overall good product. Hopefully the second pole is better than the first! Great customer service is all I can say.

Best pole i have used
I have had some time to use this pole now and feel my review may help people looking at different poles out there. This will be my third pole i have purchased and i am extremely happy with it. The poles over all construction is very sturdy. In comparison to other poles i have had this onee has by far the most sturdy feel and top rate construction. The extenders are easy to use and the go pro fits into the mount easily. I have had no sticking of the extenders and I have had extreme ease of use of this product. That being said with my initial use of this product showed some limitation when using my GoPro Hero 3+ with my LCD screen on it. The LCD screen seemed to make it a little wider and impinge on the mount at times. Moreover, after using the pole for a few months i have found that this small amount of impingement does not hinder any of my shots i have taken. I have used this pole in the ocean, on the sand, on the lake, and everyday use with my family and feel that the quality matches the price and endurance of the product. There are definitely other poles that are cheaper out there for people who do not want to spend the money on this pole but i will say having owned those cheaper poles this one will long outlast those cheap poles. I would highly recommend this pole in comparison to others and say do not buy a cheap pole spend the money on a good one or run the risk of buying multiple poles like i had to til i purchased the GoRad pole. I will look forward to this company releasing more high quality products.

The pole worked great. Very well built
Just returned from a week-long snowboarding trip to Japan. The pole worked great. Very well built, sturdy and the very long, adjustable length gave me the chance to get a wide range of great angles. I did some treeline runs and the pole took a beating a few times and didn't come out with so much as a scratch. The camera never worked itself loose like some other poles I've used. Highly recommended accessory for your GoPro kit. ***Update*** It's been a year since I bought the pole and it's still going strong. I've had no problem with the durability even after some pretty hard tumbles on the snow. I even had it in my bag once and fell. The GoPro case cracked but the pole didn't get so much as a scratch. The ONE thing I can say is MAKE SURE YOU SCREW THE BOLT IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION. The mount assembly is only threaded on one side. If you insert the bolt on the threaded side it doesn't tighten firmly enough for the camera to stay snug, and therefore the camera just flops around. After several times using the product, I accidently did this and the camera just flopped around. I through I finally broke it until I realized my mistake. Simply assembling the product correctly fixed the issue.

Perfect, sturdy pole
So I am not exactly the smarter person, so when I was needing a pole for my new gopro, I saw this and definitely wanted it because of its length and everyone said it was sturdy. I purchased it, took it to vegas, used it once and thats it. I didnt get to use it as much cause, i didnt have anything exciting yet. Fast forward 2 months later [last night], we're going somewhere for this July 4th weekend and i thought of bringing my gopro with me, of course with the pole. I started playing with the gopro and while i was playing with the length of the pole, i over unscrewed and here comes flying two plastic pieces. I thought I got a faulty piece, so I emailed them last night to ask if I can get a replacement. (Like I said, i am not the smarter person...) i didnt know that i could take this pole into the water etc etc, so i didnt know that the pole comes apart for drying... Nan, customer service, emailed me instructions, and offered replacement plastic pieces if i lost them already. He reassured me that I didnt get a faulty piece and explained to me everything. Note that I got a response in less than 24 hours. In a nutshell, the pole is perfect, dont freakout when you over unscrew it and plastic pieces fly out. If you ever need to ask customer service anything, they respond fast.

feels safe & sturdy
Disclosure: I recieved this item along with the GoRad "Boulder" travel & storage case for a "bundled price" after contacting the seller via instagram/email. Regardless, I used the item, and I am writing this according to my experience with using this item. After trying out a pure plastic version of a pole mount, I must say I feel 1000% more secure with this version. Even though it is A LOT heavier than I expected it to be, I figure that is only because of what I was comparing it to the only other one I tried before. Besides the weight, every other characteristic that I've tested on this pole mount is impeccable. The pole came with its own thumbscrew and also an end bolt and a couple plastic washers, yet I did not use the screw with the extras. The padded nylon bag was a neat little add on even though I did not use it on this particular trip. The backpack I used had plenty room for the pole while it was completely collapsed, but if I were to use a smaller day pack, or only carrying the camera with this pole, the carry bag with the adjustable strap would definitely come in handy. The wrist strap with a teeth locking adjustable clip along with the awesome non-slip grip helps give more piece of mind that you wont lose the pole (and camera) if you somehow let go and drop it. Even with bulky wrong size snowboarding gloves handling the pole, was not a problem for me. The level of full extension on this is very surprising. With two points of extension, you get a full range of FOV dimensions! The twisting unlock and lock points are easy to use so any measure between fully collapsed and full extension can be made. But, in all honesty, one extension of either level was within the range that I most liked and used. So far I've used this indoors, while snowboarding, and underwater in hottub/pool water... the only time I had any "difficulty" (if you can even call it that), was when it was snowing during use. The pole extension got stuck and I had to push with a bit more effort for it to collapse back down. I'm guessing snow got in and temporarily froze to itself. I plan to use it for a Hawaii trip in the future, but until then I won't know if or how saltwater may affect it. Either way, I'm fully satisfied with my purchase. Just like the GoRad Boulder case, my boyfriend and nephew are both looking into getting thier own as well.

The joints jiggle - not good
Normally, for a product with so many reviews and 4 1/2 stars, I would have expected perfection (that's been my experience here on Amazon when purchasing). When I took this out of the box, all looked good. Aluminum pole, nice carrying pouch, etc. But when I extended the pole, I quickly noticed it jiggled with a lot of play at both joints. I cranked down the joint tightening a bit more, better, but they both still jiggled. I retracted the pole a couple inches at each joint, and again, better, but it still jiggles at both joints, which means it's double jiggle at the end. So it doesn't take much imagination to wonder what's going to happen when you affix a camera on the end and then hang this out in any sort of wind stream or other already moving person or vehicle. That jiggling is going to result in excessive camera vibration or flutter. Not good. If I had a chance to examine this in a store, I never would have bought it. But it's here and more trouble to return than it's worth. It will work fine for still or nearly still functions, but apparently it won't be my only telescoping pole. The search continues.

Please Read! Great Product
I normally donโt write reviews on things I but on amazon, even though I rely on them to make my purchase. But I felt compelled to do so here. I received my Gorad Selfie Stick about a week ago. I love this stick. Its light, strong and easy to use. It says waterproof, which it is not waterproof to the point that the stick does fill up. But if you have the gopro float for the back door, the stick is light enough for that to make it float. The stick easily comes apart to clean and put back together. The aluminum gopro mount on the end is strong and fits nicely. I did have an issue with it not tightening down hard enough for it not to move, but Mike from MNE took care of the problem by sending me a wrench on the house which fixed the problem. He responded within 4 hours also. I was shocked! Great customer service here. He personally emailed me about 5 days after receiving the stick reminding me of the warranty and asking if I had any questions. It is quite long, but will easily fit into a carryon bag collapsed. The handle is great and comfortable and the locks are easy to use and keep it tight at all times. Highly recommended to others as a great product. I would buy again just based on how he took care of me with my questions and his service.

Broke within three uses
My husband and I spent $40 on this extension pole instead of other monopods available for almost one-fourth the price because this one is made from waterproof materials and specifically marketed for underwater use. It is also very well-rated on Amazon, so I am willing to believe that we got a defective model that does not represent the regular quality standards of this product. However, it was a very expensive mistake for us. We only used it one time before it started malfunctioning. We used it once in March in salt water at Destin and did not have any problems. Then we used it at a hot spring in Arenal, Costa Rica in April and started having trouble with the telescoping feature. We were disappointed, but continued to use the pole without fully extending it. We used the pole once more, when we were at the beach in Costa Rica, and this time the entire head of the pole broke off, with our GoPro attached, and was washed away with the strong current of the tide. We were left with the handle of the extension pole in hand, and were not able to find the other end of the pole or our GoPro. We were frustrated to lose the hundreds of dollars that the GoPro cost, but we were even more sad to have lost footage from our scuba dives and zipline tour that week. The pole seemed nice and it came with a nice carrying bag, but I think we would have been better off buying an inexpensive monopod where there was less that could go wrong. In the end, we lost the $40 for the monopod, which is no longer functional, $400 for the GoPro, and priceless video footage from our vacation. If the mistake was caused by user error, the pole is more complicated than I understood.
