Will this keep my drivetrain from rusting?** A: If you reapply when you get back from a ride, then the lube has time to spread into the links and protect the chain from rust. If your garage is really damp (Mould damp) then it’s gonna take a while to dry as the water in Squirt (used to help the wax get into the chain) takes longer to dry. It will still work however. Our bikes live in a cold garage and it works great. We often don’t ride every day, so dry time gets extended. Hope that helps, but we have not seen your shed. **Q: What is this wax like in the wet british weather?** A: Very good - it is a bit different to other chain lubes. In summer it is amazing at keeping the chain clean, in winter you will need to use more to achieve the same result, but your chain and whole drive chain will stay cleaner and will no longer require degreasing, this will in turn lead to less ware and a longer life, better gear changes and no more wasted purchases of degreaser. Highly recommend. The main diffenrces are 1. You have to start with a fully degreased chain, 2. Apply the day before you ride so it has time to dry. **Q: I thought this wax is supposed to reduce cleaning not increase it, i get a lot of gunk build up in my Jockey wheels, is this normal?** A: Using this product is not the same as really ‘waxing’ your chain. When you immerse a thoroughly cleaned chain in hot paraffin wax you end up with a chain that is cleaner and quieter than an oiled chain. This stuff is dirty and does clog things up if there’s too much on the chain. Lots of YouTubers like this stuff. I’ve used it for ages and it’s ok… I wouldn’t consider my chain as waxed but lubricated. Give the bottle a really good shake, 1 drop per roller the night before a ride and it should be ok for about 100km before you need brush off all the crap and apply some more. If you’re commuting in all weathers then you need to pay more attention. Use less and see how you go. Things shouldn’t get clogged up if there isn’t as much flying off. A tip from the good old days… Warm the chain with a hair dryer, cross chain the gears to stretch open the links and 1 small drop of lube per roller. A quick zap with hair dryer to warm things through again and the lube should reach the parts it needs and not just sit on the plates. Just a thought… Have you checked your chain for wear? **Q: Can you tell me the temperature range for this product please** A: Hi - ideal is above 5 degrees. Below 5 degrees use Low Temperature Squirt. For maximum temperature we do not have a recommendation.
