How do I get the handset to work?

Plug base unit in to power socket and sit handset on it.

Is it possible to transfer the stored numbers and names in the phonebook from the main phone to the additional handset or do they have to be rekeyed ?

The instructions are comprehensive, but I couldn't see how the main phone could share it's phone book data with the mobile handset.In the end I ended up entering the phone book information manually into the mobile handset. Hope this helps.

Is the main unit wall mountable?

I'm not sure but to make it desk standing you have to add a base so I guess it's possible

Does the cordless handset have the ability to store speed dial numbers or do you have to use the main unit for that?

Not the photo button but does have the phonebook but needs to be pressed then scrolled first. I ended up getting another set and had phone company install an extension socket so the phone at dad's bed was exactly the same as the one in his living room. The plug in extension is in another bedroom and handy when making hands free calls on his behalf
