Decent Quality
I had one of these for years but foolishly bought a cheap irish pattern one as a replacement; in less than six months the point on the cheap one bent backwards and the handle broke shortly after (Chinese rubbish). I ended up buying the Bulldog again and its stood all the abuse I've given it, its hardly expensive if it lasts for years (although I'm not using it every day).Useful for shoveling stuff around, saving your back and giving leverage when your digging etc. (Perhaps not one for ladies of smaller build, but I stand to be corrected).

Good quality for the price.
Bought as a replacement for my trusty 15 year old shovel, I was delighted with the sturdy feel and construction of this product.The handle is just the right length and thankfully has the grain of the wood running in the right direction. The blade although a little more pointed than I would like is very solid with no flex at all, and is very easy to use when digging.Overall I am happy that I chose this over some of the cheaper shovels around.

Best tool I have bought.
This shovel is an excellent buy, the ash handle is robust and the grain very straight. The shovel is made from very strong steel the likes of which are hard to find these days. I am delighted with this shovel and would recommend it to anybody that appreciates top quality workmanship, a rarity these days!

It's for shovelling, not digging!
Not much good for digging holes but great for shifting piles of loose material such as soil or sand.

Well made shovel.
As expected, excellent bulldog quality. The head is not forged so if you want something super heavy duty this isn't it.Hint - a spade is for digging, a shovel for shifting already loosened material. This is a shovel.

ohhh my back
Great bit of kit especially for moving gravel/chips/sand/cement has really helped reduce my back ache when working in garden. Very sturdy little bit heavy in hand but thats the price you pay for a tool that will last
