Works perfect in Linux
Works right off the bat in Linux (kernel 5.3.x, probably earlier ones too), detected as an Renesas uPD720201 xHCI host controller. Easy installation, I appreciate that it uses the SATA power connector too (easier to deal with than Molex).I don't have any devices fast enough to fully test the speed of the card, but writing to an external USB->SATA bridge attached to a cheap SSD, I get 77 MB/s which is quite nice. Plug and play works with my USB hub and keyboard, mouse, audio all show up / disappear when hotplugged.

Steer Clear (UPDATED)
If you're on Windows 7, and especially if you're not one for Windows Update, stay away from this card. I've been dealing with computers for over 20 years and this thing is a nightmare. It's getting returned. Ugh. *And yes, it's installed correctly and every update known to man is now in my computer. I'm going to format it just to completely get back to where everything was running perfect. Why? Now none of my HDMI Capture cards work. My usb dongle for my keyboard only comes on at boot if I change it where it's plugged in everytime I start or restart this thing. I'm honestly so frustrated I could yell. Spend a little more money and get something better than this. That's all I can tell you.** I still would run from this if on Windows 7. I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to Windows 10 Pro and it picked the card right up and works seemingly fine. I will say that W10 has come a long way in the past few years. While I'd prefer to had stayed on 7, I'm good with 10 now.*** Works so good on 10 that I bought another one.

Plug and play with windows 10
So cheap that I got 3 of them, like the black board compared to others that are ugly red ones, each one has only 1 controller for all 4 of its ports, so I wouldn't recommend plugging more then 1 oculus rift sensor on each card, but other then that they are great for anyone who gets greedy for some extra usb 3.0 ports on the budget with enough free pcie ports available

Doesn't fit a half high slot.
I couldn't use this because my slots are half height and the unit did not with the appropriate adapter. Since it was so cheap, I did not return it.

Worst ever
When I plugged it into my PC running Windows 10, it deleted some files from my pc making me have to redownload windows 10.

Worked great out of the box!
I had trouble with a different brand of hub so I bought this one for older Windows 7 Pro x64 workstation without native USB 3.0. Popped it in, loaded the driver from bundled mini CD and off to the races! Very fast file transfers now. Would recommend and buy again. Great price and value.

Good product
I want to give this item a good review because the deserves it but I wonder why I bought this and not one like it with more ports. I eventually did just that and now both are installed - you just can't have too many USB ports.

4x speed
Haven't done in righteous testing but I do get about 4x the speed of my 2.0 ports which is good enough for me.
