Felco FEL8 Model 8 Classic Secateurs (Renewed)

I bought these for my sister who is a keen gardener. She was amazed how sharp they are! I've had a pair for ages and love them and I'd already bought sister number 1 a pair so we are all Felcoed up now. OK they are expensive but they are comfortable to use (even if you have smaller hands) and really do the job. I seem to remember someone commenting that they lose their edge. I haven't found this to happen particularly fast. When they do get less sharp a quick go with a sharpener (I have the Felco Diamond Sharpener) is all that's needed. I'm guessing that the reason you can get them so sharp is down to the steel used. If the metal was harder it may hold an edge longer but you couldn't get it as sharp in the first place. If you are hesitating about making the investment - don't! As long as you don't lose them they could last a lifetime. You can easily get spare blades etc and Felco do a full refurb service by post when you feel they are a bit tired

Been using these for years and they still hold up. These can handle what your other, cheaper secateurs might not be able to - there is a real difference and that is good for your hands too. Highly recommended. They don't accidentally open in your pocket too easily either.

Superb product, last ones still going strong after 11 years, ( until stolen). Not cheap but great VFM & cutting blade can be replaced 👍👏👏

These where my first Felco's and I wasn't sure to get either these or the original Felco 2's, I have used the 2's from a friend and really liked them. But I prefer the 8's, they are great in the hand and feel really comfortable, the head or blades have a slight tilt on them which I was dubious about but actually they are a great help in eye to hand coordination and work perfectly well. They feel a joy in the hand, comfortable and dont slip, I have used them all day most days as I have worked as a maintenance gardener over the past 18 months, they keep sharp for ages depending on what your cutting pruning etc, but benefit from a gentle sharpening every now and again, but if used briefly they are fine for quite awhile. Well made, great design, worth every penny, a must have for secateurs.

You can't question the quality of these secateurs and it's good to know that they can be returned for sharpening and repair, or do it yourself as most parts seem to be available. I've not had them long so will probably come back with an update at the end of the year when they've had a season's use, but so far, so good.

Well I have now been using these secateurs for 4 years and they have been completely trouble free. Amazingly, the quality of the blades is so good that I have not had to sharpen them once, which is particularly impressive as I prune a lot of apple trees and frequently cut big branches of hard wood with them. In fact, if I can fit the branch between the blades, I know I can cut it. The design of the handles is very comfortable to use even from prolonged pruning sessions. The design of the secateurs is really very simple which means there is very little to go wrong with them. The safety catch is a little on the fiddly side, but that is probably because I have big hands. The only maintenance needed seems to be the occasional rub down with wire wool to keep the blades clean, and stop them sticking. I also use WD40 regularly to clean and lubricate them. I am happy to say that these are the best secateurs I have ever owned - highly recommended.

We are avid David Austin Roses fans and recognise the importance of using good quality secateurs to ensure the task of dead-heading roses is as easy and pleasurable as can be. At the same time we value the precision of the cut that secateurs give and these are fabulous (especially compared to lower quality, cheaply made secateurs). These Felco Classic Secateurs are so comfortable to hold. The hand grasps around them nicely and because they feel so light (compared to heavier, cheaper secateurs) it really does lessen the strain/uncomfort previously felt by using other secateurs. I am so pleased with my purchase that I am purchasing these for my mum's birthday. She too prunes a lot of roses and appreciates good quality equipment. I particularly like the way the parts for these Felco secateurs can be replaced. The precision of cut is amazing. Excellent purchase and I definitely recommend.

We now have four pairs. One each for the top of the garden and again for the bottom. They have never let us down. Always cut through cleanly. Occasionally we abuse them, secure in the knowledge that Felco will repair them and they come back as new. Yes, they are expensive. We've tried cheaper but they become blunt or distorted. Worth a try at Amazon prices.

Great secatuers, very pleased with them, these are the only brand I like because of the quality and comfortable to use, cut well too

Ottime forbici da potatura professionali, d'altronde a questo prezzo non avevo dubbi. Acquistate per giardinaggio e sono sicuramente l'ideale. Cesoia molto leggera per via dei manici in alluminio e attenzione perché taglia come un rasoio. Il modello 8 è per destrimani e l'impugnatura è perfettamente anatomica, quindi utilizzabile tranquillamente per ore senza problemi di affaticamento. Ho scelto questo modello in particolare per un motivo essenziale: la controlama non è un pezzo rivettato su un portalama come sul modello 2, ma è un unico pezzo d'acciaio smontabile e sostituibile con estrema facilità. Oltretutto i ricambi Felco si trovano praticamente dovunque. Spedizione nei tempi previsti. Forbici care, ma senz'altro consigliate per chi esige qualità e durata.

Excellent sécateur pro : ergonomie parfaite pour les droitiers. Coupe nette et précise. À quand un plaquage de lame avec du chrome pour faciliter son nettoyage ? Ce serait un plus ! Le mien a été livré sans clé de réglage. Le service après-vente d'Amazon me l'a échangé.
