Great is the write book i needed

The Book Two of Music Theory ....Important.

These books have helped me come on in keaps and bounds with my music theory. They are very eAsy to understand. I have had some theory books thT have been very complicated to understand. This is easy and ro the point. Would definately recommend buying these books if you need help with music theory. It doesnt matter what instrument you play as this is just generalised for everyone.

I bought this and book 1 for my husband who has played Double Bass for some years but never addressed himself to theory. I worked through the entire set myself some years ago and I think they are very good. They give a good grounding in theory and enough practice in the exercises. However,! I had a teacher to explain things to me. My husband doesn't and wanted to know 'where the answers were!' I suggest that if you intend to use these books without the help of a teacher, you should also invest in The AB Guide to Music Theory books 1 & 2.

Covers everything needed for the ABRSM Grade 2 Music Theory exam. The workbook aspect is particularly useful as it allows you to put your skills into practice as you learn from the sections of the book. If I could improve one thing, it would be to include questions to test you on the performance directions as this is the only section not catered for in this way within the book.

Very pleased with these books, our daughter who is 14 is working through these as homework after her singing lessons and then goes over the answers with her teacher at her next lesson. They have greatly improved her knowledge of music theory and we are very pleased. Not sure how effective they would be if one was using them for self learning at home without formal lessons.

L'ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) è una istituzione riconosciuta a livello mondiale che offre esaminazioni nel campo musicale in tutto il mondo. Gli esami più comuni offerti dall'ABRSM sono quelli di Teoria musicale e di strumento, divisi in un primo livello in 8 gradi. Questo libricino di 32 pagine è assai utile per ripassare e testare la proprio conoscenza dell'esame ABRSM Music Theory - Grade 2 e si consiglia dopo aver fatto ABRSM Music Theory - Grade 1, o almeno se ne conoscono i contenuti. ABRSM Music Theory - Grade 2 comprende i seguenti argomenti: spazi aggiuntivi sopra e sotto il rigo, nuove indicazioni del tempo/metro (2/2 3/2 4/2 3/8), scale maggiori di La Sib e Mib, terzine, scale minori di La Mi e Re (armonica e melodica), raggruppare le note, intervalli della scala di ottava, comporre un ritmo di 4 battute nei tempi 2/4 3/4 4/4 2/2 3/2 4/2 3/8, ed infinde ulteriori note di direzione (tempi, dinamiche, accenti, legature, tenuto). Il volumetto è costituita da una piccola parte introduttiva di ripasso (che rimanda al testo di teoria "The AB guide to Music Theory"), da un piccolo esercizio guidato e/o esplicativo, e dagli esercizi veri e propri. 4 test di una pagina finali riassumono e fanno il punto su tutto il materiale. Da un punto di vista teorico, il volumetto guida con molta chiarezza e semplicità il percorso lungo i vari temi di teoria musicale, con molti esempi pratici e mettendo subito degli esempi pratici con cui doversi confrontare (differentemente dal metodo quasi solamente teorico della scuola italiana). Bisogna tenere conto che questa edizione è in inglese, e conseguentemente tutta la teoria e tutte le codificazioni si riferiscono al sistema inglese (chiamare le note C D E F G A B, e poche altre differenze a parte le ovvie traduzioni dei termini). Da un punto di vista grafico è abbastanza chiaro e curato, con un testo medio nero, e con l'utilizzo del rosso e del blu per paragrafi e punti salienti. Assolutamente raccomandato per intraprendere uno studio serio, graduale e guidato della teoria musicale esternamente al sistema accademico italiano o anche solamente come hobby. Per testare se le risposte date sono corrette, si può andare da un insegnante di musica o anche comprare il volumetto delle risposte (con copertina grigia).
