It's a PROXXON. German made Tool. What else needs to be said? It's the best.

Fine. Didn't find it noisy. Is quite springy but then there's metal in it. The shank adapters that come with the Micromot IBE fit it - would be nice if could have a duplicate screw on drill end thing so they could be used. You can buy a separate set only :( Have to check the bits are dead centre in variable grip before using or they break_ as you'd expect. If the bending of the cable is acute the cable gets hot and vibrates so best kept straight as poss for long life.

After reading through the reviews I was hesitant to purchase this (as many gave negative comments), but went for it anyway - very glad I did, as it is very comfortable to use and control - had no issues after using it on and off for more than 5hrs. Those who complained about heat and bearing noise were simply not using it correctly - just be sure you hang the Rotary Tool securely and in such a way as to not cause excess looping in the flexishaft. I purchased this along with the Proxxon 28512 Drilling and Milling Machine Micromot 60 / EF , the Proxxon 28706 Power Supply NG 2/S and the Proxxon 28700 Foot Switch FS - And I'm very pleased with all of them. I deliberated over the purchase for days, watching YouTube reviews and reading the Feedback on Amazon...almost went with the Dremel , but glad I didn't. Highly recommend to anyone in the same predicament.

Excellent item, works extremely well and makes drills even more versatile!

Why didn't I buy this years ago? What a massive difference for my hands, I can now polish jewellery with much less discomfort and for much longer. The shaft doesn't get hot too quickly and is comfortable to hold.

The hand piece is comfortable and runs quietly. It's big weakness is that the top of the flexible shaft is not secured to the motor. This means that the whole of the shaft, inner and outer, rotates if you are not holding the handpiece. It is strange that Proxxon, whose equipment is generally very well designed and engineered released a flawed flexible shaft.

It's a great product, I've used it for short jobs and extended jobs, sometimes an hour or more of continual use. Doesn't heat up during extended runtime, and the vibration is low. At the end of the day, when the shop lights go dark, the Dremel tool next to the Proxxon goes to sleep and dreams of being a Proxxon, as the Dremel is a toy compared to the Proxxon. (the only good Dremel rotary tool product is the EZ lock mandrels, those are exceptionally convenient, albeit it expensive to replace the cutting disks) I've owned every single Dremel rotary tool they've ever made, cordless and corded, and I've smoked every single Dremel I've ever owned. Every single one, including the one in the picture. The one pictured I had to rebuild and it's now one speed and is a piece of junk, I use it with one single bit. Now the Proxxon however, I've owned for about six or seven years and is robust, and no matter how much torture I put it through, it's good as new. I've used this new style Flexishaft for about six months, and just as good as my other Proxxon Flexishaft not pictured. That one is also six or seven years old in my mobile toolbox.
