3 Years later - Exceptional experience with rOtring Rapid Pro Mechanical Pencil
After 3 years of us, I'm delighted to say that my experience with the rOtring Rapid Pro Mechanical Pencil has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I started using it, I could feel the quality and precision that rOtring is renowned for.The pencil's solid metal construction exudes durability and a professional feel. The weight is just right, providing a comfortable grip without being too heavy. The only negative is that I sometimes break the lead as I am heavy handed, but this has been my experience with every pencil I have ever used.If you're in search of a reliable, high-performance mechanical pencil, this one is definitely worth the investment. Highly recommended!

Luxury quality, nicely weighted, smooth mechanism.
I bought this for myself as a treat after already buying the equivalent in 0.7. I first used Rotring when I was in my first job as a graphic designer for a printing company in the late 80s. They are a premium price but well worth it. I prefer to use these than a normal pencil as it gives me more control when drawing. It’s very easy to fill / replace then graphite. I also bought 4b in addition to additional HB. The cap can be used to sharpen the pencil to a very fine point.

Best mechanical pencil
Simply the best mechanical pencil ive ever owned. While it is pricey for a pencil, it has a full metal body whcihnis comfortable to hold, not too heavy.I like how there is a spring for dampening the pressure if you apply too pressure, this prevents the lead from breaking which is something that happens alot from otjer pencils ive owned

Quite simply the best mechanical pencil you can find!!
I bought my first Rapid Pro mechnical pencil in 2012 and still use it daily. Never let me down through years of exams and daily abuse at work. The cushioned lead mechanism is amazing - the days of breaking lead while writing are long gone. After almost 13 years the mechanism still works perfectly, with just some scuffing and loss of color on the body. Recently bought another two just in case something happens or they discontinue this absolutely amazing pencil.

Excellent
I use 2mm mechanical pencils for writing. This one is heavier than the Versatil I've been using, but the grip and weight distribution is conductive to very comfortable handling. The build quality, fine mechanics and sleek look (and a good quality soft lead) makes the Rapid PRO 2.0 an excellent instrument .

You won’t be disappointed
I have had this 2mm version in my wish list basket for months, when the price dropped (a little!) a bought it.The pictures don’t do it justice, it really does feel lovely to use. It’s got a lovely weight to it, well balanced and has a lovely grip under your fingers. The mechanical action is perfect, it’s just generally a joy to use!Yes it’s expensive but I hope to get many years use out of it.I also have Staedtler equivalent and they seem to take the same lead so that is an added bonus!Only minor disappointment was that in the listing it was shown (and detailed in the spec) in a nice Rotring case but turned up in a cardboard disposable item, see my review picture. Not a deal breaker for me though, still love it!
