This bread knife is sharper than a serpent's tooth and just as thankless if you treat it with disrespect, as it will bite unless handled well. So sharp.Another superb knife from Zelite. Well balanced and razor-edged. As beautiful to look at as it is to hold and use, and packaged in a quality box that just begs to be given as a gift. Not a chance, I'm keeping mine. Hands off.I baked a loaf today and, rather than let it cool as you should, I sliced it straight from the oven. This would typically result in a bit of a mess, but this knife cut through the hard crust and the still steaming interior without a problem. It is that sharp.I now have all four of Zelite Infinity's knives currently available in the UK from Amazon (hopefully more of their range heading this way soon from across the pond.)My first was the 4" paring to replace a much loved but worn out 4" Gustav Emil that I've had and used professionally and domestically for 30 years, and when I bought the Zelite I thought Wow, this is special.So I then ordered the 8" Chef and the 7" Santoku and received a 5% discount on the Amazon site, and because I had already bought three knives and reviewed them, I was then offered a £15 discount on this bread knife from the very nice person at Zelite, also known as Sam. So I had to buy it to make up the set. This discount in no way affected my practical opinion of the knife and was not received as an acceptance that I should write a review.To date there is an offer available; if you buy two, three or all four together Zelite offer various incremental discounts, so don't miss out on this before it is gone.The 8" Bread Knife is another spectacular knife of top quality and I thoroughly recommend it, as I do all the knives I have bought from Zelite. I have not used better in my 35 years of food preparation and cooking in hotels, restaurants and at home. Nuff said.

I bought the whole set of Zelite Infinity knives, including this 8" Bread. This particular knife is unusual, because (as opposed to the rest of the range, which will do fine with occasional Asian style honing and sharpening), it may be challenging to sharpen thanks to serrated edge. However since it is made with extremely hard steel, sharpening should not be needed for a long time, as opposed to any other bread knife I've seen. The knife is little wider and weights more than most bread knives, but it is well balanced and very comfortable in hand.As for the whole range, these are very nice knives and very, very sharp too. Definitely worth their price, I should be able to use them for decades, with appropriate care. The blade composition is typical for highest quality Japanese kitchen knives, which is VG10 clad with many layers of SUS410. Even though the steel is Japanese make, the actual knife is made in China and, as someone familiar with top shelf China made products, I believe that the maker is unnecessarily modest about this.

I had wanted a proper, high quality bread knife for a long time and finally decided to buy this one, even thought I must admit I was a bit scared by the price tag. I am really glad I went ahead and bought it, as I could not be happier with my purchase! The knife is truly excellent and it allows me to slice my homemade bread as thin as I want it, instead of having the usual super thick, squashed slices I get with other knives. The knife comes in a beautiful box, where I still keep mine, as this knife is too sharp to be left in a drawer without some kind of protection on the blade. I actually wish it came with a blade cover, so that one wouldn't have to keep the whole box, but overall that is not a major issue. The quality of the knife seems superb. As I said, it allows to slice bread thinly with great precision; it is of a good weight and the handle is very comfortable. Handling it just feels right. The best feature is that the blade will not need sharpening in time, which to me is a huge bonus. I am definitely completely satisfied with my purchase at this stage and really impressed by this brand and I'd say: it is worth every penny, just go for it and you will not regret it!

I have recently received my 8" bread knife by Zelite Infinity and I am taken aback at how good this knife is.I have used this knife on various breads such as hard crusty loaf to very soft homemade bread which I always find a problem in cutting as tends to squash easily, with this it glided through every piece with precision as is so sharp so there was no squashing.I have also managed to cut anything from big door steps of bread to extremely fine thin slices with ease.The presentation box is lovely and very good quality making this not only perfect for storing the knife in but also as a beautiful gift.The blade is extremely sharp with a serrated edge and handle rounded and weighted for comfort. I love the design on the handle with the 3 rivets the middle one is golden with a Japanese design making this look extra special.Overall I am more than impressed with my bread knife and couldn't recommend it any higher very easy review for the full 5 *****

These are the sharpest knives you will ever own. Aesthetically pleasing on the eye. Heavy, yet well balanced at the same time. Bought the 8" chef knife, 6" utility knife, 4" paring knife and the 8" bread knife. The all arrived in nice presentation boxes. As already stated they are razor sharp. Fresh Tiger loaf and the bread knife cut it perfectly as thick or thin as you like with the loaf staying as it was bought - no squashing of the loaf. Absolutely delighted with them. Yes they are not cheap, but then again they don't slice or chop like a cheap imitation either. Perfection!!!!!!!!!!
