Brilliant story, funny too
I did want to give blood lad 5 stars and the story its self fully deserves it, just my copy had a bit of a weak spine, which for me is a worry because I like to keep my books like new, I'm pretty sure this is just a one off, as i own volumes 2 & 3 and they have strong spines. I'm not going to talk about the story because I'm sure other reviews have addressed it. The cover of the books is very striking and, the spine of the book also looks very good on a shelf, and the paper quality is also very good, but this can be expected since its yen press released. also the mix of action and comedy is very well done. But if you're buying this blind, I'm sure you wont be disappointed.

Worth the buy
Arrived earlier then expected. Overall good condition, but the bottom of the spine ( bottom right corner in picture)probably took a little damage while delivering. Overall very good quality and definitely worth the price.

Bought Used. Bad Quality.
It was still readable but didn't suit for collection purposes. Still annoyed about it saying it was "good quality". Rips and scuffs don't sound like "good quality" to me.

I don't remember exactly why, but while I was house sitting for a friend of mine away on vacation, I went out on the internet to find a new manga to read and somehow came across this: A story about a vampire who isn't really interested in being one and spends his days playing video games and obsessing over Japanese media. As I appeared to have uncanny similarities with the main character, I decided to pick up a copy of volume 1. I'm really happy I did. This series is funny and doesn't take itself too seriously, I can read it without feeling like I'm on the verge of tears and enjoy it early in the morning when I don't want to think too hard. The cast is charming, taking hints from different storybook tales of classic horror. The art style reminds me a bit of Bleach and there's a fair amount of fanservice, but it's worth it to watch Staz tear people to shreds.

Here is my first manga I have already received. Well, the quality is really good. I hope I will buy another manga.

I watched the anime first and I really, really enjoyed it. So that's why I decided to start collecting these omnibuses. So far, from what I've read, the anime seems to cover the first 3 omnibuses (Chapters 1-30) panel by panel. If you were to just continue from 10th episode of the anime, you should pick up the 4th omnibus (Chapters 31-40), I'm pretty sure nothing important will be missed by skipping ahead. Also, if you want to collect the series, keep in mind that there are 9 English release volumes in total: - 8 omnibuses, each containing 2 Japanese release volumes. [Blood Lad volumes 1-8] - 1 individual volume. [Blood Lad volume 9] Overall, the art style is really cool, and the story and setting is really unique. There's sure to be laughs along the way too. Give this manga a try!
