I would use hot water to clean it but wouldn't recommend dishwasher for any flask personally, irrespective of manufacturers claims

My daughter struggled to open another brands flask, as did I, after hot food was put in it for school lunch. She’s 13. Is this easy enough to open?

I have owned the same flask for 5 years and still struggle to open it if I put hot food for my lunch. Most of time I have to pull boiling water between the lid and the body, then use a towel to separate them. If the food you put inside is not hot, then it is easy to open.

Its a plastic spoon, not a great spoon to be honest.
