Yoga Dictionary is the book I have been waiting for to help me in my own writing. Concise, modern and attractive to read, it helps me a great deal as a reference guide.

This book is very useful if you wish to translate sanskrit into english. I wanted it to translate english into sanskrit, which is does not do. If there had been any mention of the book being one way translation only, I would not have bought it.

Great book- unlike what the previous reviewer stated this book does actually provide entries starting both from Sanskrit and from English- just that they all come up the same letters i.e. Under the letter "A" there are entries in English, e.g. "Accomplished pose: see siddhasana" and also Sanskrit entries "Adhomukha svanasana: downward-facing dog pose".It is easy to find the terms you are looking for and there are also illustrations throughout of some key poses.As a student of yoga this book is proving very useful indeed- I was having to google search every pose after class in order to find either the sanskrit name or vice-versa - trying to find the English equivalent and now I am able to take my research off of the internet and back into the book. It is a very comprehensive guide to almost 1500 Sanskrit and English terms. Well worth the money.
