This is a Great set, i've done work on red oak hard maple and steel, no problem, works like a charm! **Q: What are the sizes on the dies?** A: They are all the popular sizes that you find in the non ratcheting sets. **Q: I will be working with metric sizes (5mm - 8mm). Will this work with these taps and dies? And will it work universally with generic metric taps and dies (round and hex), or only specific types?** A: I can ansewr about the taps....it should be no problem 5-8mm, but the dies I cannot give you an ansewr because I have not tried that myself yet. I bought the set primaraly for the quality. I planned only to tap with it. Only issue is self inflicted and that’s that the ratchet changes direction as I hold it too close to the switch.
