Love the marinara sauce
Love the marinara sauce! This is so hard to find in grocery stores, and I happen to love the taste of octopus...

Perfect for snacks, or with rice or pasta for a light meal
I purchase these locally (just about every place where I shop carries them), so am not going to address variables like price and shipping. This review will focus on the octopus itself. These are surprisingly tender for octopus. They are slightly chewy, but not terribly so. The flavor is mildly spicy, with a hint of acidity and salt in the flavor profile. For light meals I toss a can of these in a small bowl of cooked pasta or over hot rice, add red pepper flakes and a touch of olive oil and salt. Out of the can they are a nice snack that staves off my appetite. Each can contains a single, 160 calorie serving of which 90 of those calories are from the 10 grams of fat. Cholesterol is low at 40mg, but sodium is fairly high at 320mg. Carbs are 1 gram and protein a very respectable 12 grams. The ingredients are simple: octopus, soybean (and/or) sunflower oil, tomato, onion and unnamed spices. If you have soy allergies you will probably want to avoid these.Bottom line: for folks like myself you dine alone, a can of these with a starch like pasta or rice is an inexpensive and fairly nutritious meal. I love the flavor and texture, and despite the slight chewiness, each morsel is more tender than octopus that I prepare fresh.

Squid, not octopus. This product is squid, not the octopus advertised.
