Having read the other reviews I was concerned to make a purchase, but I didn't need to worry. There was no odd smell as other have reported. Feathers have fluffed up with no problems. I left the quilt unpacked for a few hours as suggested. It's a cotton cover so therefore makes a crinkle noise when you settle in for the night. The duvet may be too warm for the summer months but it's been chilly at night ( we've even had a frost) and I've been comfortably warm. I'm in the menopause so night sweats is the norm for me. I've recently switched from polycotton to cotton bedding. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase. Even the cat approved and swapped beds, joining me around midnight. She was reluctant to leave in the morning for breakfast and a toilet break.

As good if not better than more expensive versions of same feather/down mix bought at department stores. This is our third duvet by them and they are all going strong. Comfortable and light whilst being warm and snug. Feel premium quality. Guests have commented on how much they like the duvet in our spare room. P.S. As a couple who are opposites in terms of how warm we like our duvets, we decided to use a single duvet each rather than our previous super-king size duvet (after seeing this done in hotels on a Scandinavian holiday) This means we can have separate tog ratings, no nightime duvet stealing AND I can now stick my feet out of either side of my duvet. Also much easier to manage 2 single duvets in terms of washing and making the bed. Total game changer.

Bought one of these seven years ago and used it all through the winters. Wraps around you beautifully and keeps you warm. Elderly dog unfortunately had an accident on it so as soon as it started getting cooler I bought another one. No feathers poke through like some. Definitely recommend it.

When the item was opened, it had distinctive smell. So it was hung out for a few hours as the item information said. However, the smell didn't go away. Even after hanging it out for a week or so in the sun, it still had the smell. In the end, I had to take it to the laundrette for wash and tumble dry for 42 minutes. Then the smell was completely gone . It is well made, light and warm without smell now. We love it. Shame that the manufacturer didn't wash and tumble dry thoroughly before selling it. So I give 4 star because of the initial smell.

This duvet is beautiful. I have wanted one of these for so long but was worried about reviews that mentioned feathers falling out everywhere or scratching people at night, but I was mostly concerned with reports of a farm yard smell to feather duvets. I researched different feather duvets and read that the "farm" smell is usually apparent in duck feather products due to the oils in the duck feathers? I also read that you would not get this with goose feather and down. After reading many reviews on many different duvets, I decided upon this one and I am thrilled with it. The cotton cover is very well made and the feathers are plentiful, the box stitching is perfect for keeping the feathers in place ensuring no cold spots occur. It came in a handy storage bag and I have not seen one single feather escape, also I can confirm that there was definately no unpleasant smells upon opening or during use of this duvet. I was so happy with mine that I went on to purchase 3 singles for my daughters. Upon opening they seem rather thin but literally puff up before your eyes. These are the 10.5 togs and whilst not neccesarily light, they are beautifully comfortable and warm. I will however, be purchasing the 4.5 tog for summer use. I do not want to leave my bed since owning this duvet.

Bought this duvet for winter to replace a wool duvet (which smells like a sheep lol). It's absolutely gorgeous a heavy weight when putting in a cover but as light as air when sleeping under it, not sure how it works but wowzer it's fab, warm cozy and no smell, slept marvellous 😀

Arrived in good time and great value for money. We had never owned any type of feather duvet before only man made filled duvets. It is so much lighter in weight than duvet we had owned before and were worried it may not be warm enough. As bought this duvet purely because it was 10.5 tog as reviews on heaver togs say they are to hot. I can say it was not to hot or cold in bed and felt so much better than man made duvets. It do,s rustle slightly when you turn over in bed but we don't seam to notice it at all now as just got used to it. Owned it for a couple of months now and only noticed the odd loose feather when changing duvet cover and nothing like some people say in reviews on feather duvets. Would recommend this duvet to buy.
