Box Contains Xbox One Digital TV Tuner Review: Pretty good with Xbox, even better with Raspberry pi - Purchased this because the tuner in my TV didn't have any live pause functionality and while HD could not tune Freeview HD channels. This added both of these functions to my Xbox One.. However!, this really comes into it's own when you connect it to a Raspberry Pi, with a bit of tinkering, research and setup it can easily surpass Freeview+ HD boxes easily for about half the cost, all in. Some things to be aware of, the process of setting this up with a raspberry pi can be a little involved so be aware of that, but it is well worth putting the time in. With OSMC and TVHeadend and the appropriate firmware (available online) you gain DVR functionality, not only that you can set up recordings over your network, steam live tv and recordings to tablets, phones and PCs, you can also set your Pi up to record to network connected drives. One big standout feature (unavoidable on most DVRs, due to draconian DRM schemes) is the ability to transfer recordings to playback on other devices (Including HD content :-) ). Well recommended to anyone who knows a little bit about computers, and is willing to put a little bit of time in to set this up. I turned on my Xbox One S, plugged the tuner into the Xbox, and my bedroom aerial into the aerial connection on the tuner. ( Aerial is required ) It automatically picked up that I had a tuner and I held down the xbox button to take me to the setup. I went through the setup, kept the default option Freeview and it scanned for channels. Picked up all the channels nicely and then setup live rewind - it sets aside 4GB of space on your Xbox so it can pause and rewind live tv. Once setup it was great aside from the menu being fairly unintuitive on an xbox controller, and oddly the bottom triggers are fast forward and rewind, so you have to be careful setting down your controller. As I understand it you can get around this by using the Xbox Smart Glass phone app like a remote control but I haven't tried it yet.
