Instant and excellent results
This product is fantastic. I very rarely use this phrase but it was definitely worth every penny and did the job extremely well. I was fully expecting this to be one of those gimmicky car restoration products such as black plastic trim restorer or black ‘n’ shine for tyres. Looks good initially, but then fades after a short while. The lights on my MX5 were looking very dull and cloudy, and really aged the overall look of the car. I’d tried other brands and techniques to rejuvenate the headlights but none did the job, and I was on the verge of just giving up and living with them as they were. Tried these and saw improvement immediately. Comes with sandpaper and other liquids but honestly I only needed the ‘phase one gel’ in the end. I applied and buffed off maybe 6-7 times on each headlight and that was it - the headlights looked brand new! Needless to say I’m very pleased, impressed and thoroughly recommend this product. My pictures show before and after results!

By 'eck, a headlight restorer that works! Well done Turtle Wax!
Having a now elderly 2007 Fiesta, and never having been a regular car washing type of guy (a good dose of rain does it - yeah?), even I was becoming aware of the yellowing and careworn state of its front peepers. They were even casting an insipid and yellowing light in use. On a mission I bought some Meguiars headlight cleaner from my local motosave, but that merely tickled the problem. Dispirited, I resigned myself to having less than pristine headlamps. Then I stumbled across this whilst browsing, and while I am becoming quite cynical of some of the reviews on amazon (some for different products are identical, down to the same spelling mistakes), I was seduced by the reviews and brand into investing 10 of my hard-earned pounds into buying this. Now, I won't say that it is a miracle worker, and 13 years of neglect and road attrition will not just magically disappear. In my case it took two sessions of applications, but I now wish that I had taken before-and-after shots, because with a good application of elbow grease the lights have scrubbed up much better than expected. To say I am pleased with the results would be an understatement. I am actually quite proud, considering where they have come from! So, the important thing to report is that the product works, and works well. I feel that my headlights gave it a stern test. The kit comes with all that you need, instructions, a lens clarifying compound, a lens lubricating liquid, and two small reversible sanding blocks of different grades, colours and labels. There is also a disposable plastic glove and two sealed pouches containing a base coat wipe and an anti-yellowing finishing wipe (yay!). The blocks are adequate but parsimoniously small. I would personally like to see the size increased, as they are fiddly in use. The only upside I can see for the small size is that it ensures careful control when nearing paintwork. I had concerns when looking at the size of the bottles supplied that they would run out before I could complete the task of restoring my lights, but in the event I only used around 1/4 of each bottle, so all was good. A reasonable question, for me at least, would be, "Why only one glove?!" The finishing moistened and folded paper towels are labelled as possible skin irritants, but you need two hands to unfold them! I am aware that this review is probably nearing Dr Zhivago in length, but the bottom line is that if you feel the need to renew the look of your headlights, then this has to rank as a proven product. It works, and works well.

My headlights are shiny bright again - Thanks Turtle Wax!
The headlights of my old (2003) Audi A3 were yellowed and cloudy, a bit like my ageing eyes. I bought this kit to try to restore them, rather than replacing them, which is expensive. I read the instructions through a couple of times, and the process isn't simple, as you have to use the right pads with the right liquid in the right order at the right time. This taxed my brain a little but I decided to have a go. The kit provides everything you need, including the polythene gloves I used (I'm sure these were in there - but you could borrow some from your local petrol station if not). The instructions recommend you mask areas of paintwork around the lights before using. I didn't but I was also very careful. This is a slow and tedious process. The instructions are clear about which solution to use and which pads to use and the length of time you need to use them for. Whilst it is slow AND complicated, you just need to keep following the instructions. One solution is used for scrubbing lights to remove yellowing and cloudiness, then the other is used to protect them so that they, hopefully, don't go yellow and cloudy again. Whilst scrubbing the headlights, I didn't notice any real difference, but once finished there was a clearly visible clarity to my headlights, which definitely wasn't there before. This may have been wishful thinking, after all I had just spent the best part of an hour (or more) scrubbing them. I should add that my lights were particularly bad so the difference afterwards would have been that much more noticeable. However, later that evening, when driving, the headlights were significantly brighter, even though my eyes were still yellowed and cloudy. Overall a great product, cheaper than replacing headlights, and cheaper than paying someone to do it for you. I may need to do it again for next winter, but still have plenty of solution left to have another go if necessary. A shame I didn't do before and after photos...

Improves aged headlights - works better on some than others
I followed the instructions and like other buyers have mentioned the product seems to make the headlights worse until you reach the final stages. The abrasive pads are a bit of an annoyance, they don't seem large enough to grip, they could be identifiable by the grade too on the instructions which would help if you wanted to source your own wet and dry paper equivalent. Depsite these little niggles, they did seem to make an improvement on my 12 year old Honda Civic headlights. They are clearer and there is less surface corrosion although there is still a visible corrosion line running across both lights, but nowhere near as bad as originally. I'd recommend this kit as its cheap, easy to use and does give results but will not always be the magic bullet you are hoping it to be, having read many reviews for this product before I purchased I can see many buyers have had amazing results but of course, this will vary. My cars age and my usage of the local car wash regularly haven't helped but the kit did make a improvement. If you have difficulty working with small sanding pads then maybe another kit would be more suitable.

Works well in removing discolouration, good value for money
I had some discolouration in places on my 10 year old Saab lights. It didn't seem too bad and I tried Turtle Wax headlight cleaner and sealant first which although it made a slight effect I needed something tougher so I decided to try the restoration product which is much cheaper than some of the others available to purchase. I followed the instructions and used the clarifying compound first. It made more impression than the previous cleaner and sealant but couldn't get it all off, certainly not by hand. I very intrepidity used the four stages of sanding pads with the clear fluid. This took the discolouration off but left the sanded areas worse than ever with a dull opaque finish and certainly not clear and see through. Heart in mouth time! I then applied the clarifying compound by hand and this polished the sanded areas to a clear see through look to match the rest of the lights. It took a bit of effort! It's not totally perfect and ideally an electric drill polishing mop would probably polish it much better but for a tenner and just using muscle power it is a very good kit. I can't imagine how paying over twice the price for some other kits would do any better by hand to remove ingrained oxidisation and discolouration, unless you are trying to eliminate scratches and chips which are much deeper in the plastic. I would also be wary of some of the slightly cheaper and less well known brands being able to remove and polish out the discolouration. I didn't bother with the sealant that came with it as I used the cleaner and sealant I had bought previously to see how it lasts. I'd definitely buy this kit again although I'd invest in a mop polish head for my drill to do the final stage .

Amazing product
I own a Rover 75, 2006 plate, and over the last two years the headlights have deteriorated so much that with my MOT due shortly I felt sure the car would fail on this point. I have to say DIY and I don't mix well so read a lot before I buy anything. Looked at ebay for replacement headlights, new about £600 ish to buy and about £100 used, if you can find them. Ųtube do a great film on how to change. Not easy. Then I came across this product on Amazon and read a lot of reviews. I came to the conclusion that as my own headlights are particularly bad that the pads might not last. So following one of the reviews I bought some wet and dry P1000. A neighbour also gave me a can of Brasso Metal Polishing Wad. So armed today with the Turtle Wax pack etc I set about the job, very apprehensive. I can report that the Wet and Dry did an amazing job, followed with the Brasso. I then opened up the Turtle Wax pack and duly followed the instructions, missing out the pads part. By the time I'd finished using a small amount of the two bottles, and then the two wipes, I have to say, wow, amazing result. Can't believe what I've achieved. If the pack had a few extra wipes you could do three or four cars with the solution that I have left. Sadly they only give you enough for one job. Anyway, for the price, fantastic and can "highly recommend". Thanks to everyone who previously reviewed this product for you help.

Good kit, but takes some work!
I purchased this because I had an advisory on the last MOT about the yellowing to one of the headlights on our car and with this years MOT coming up I thought I better do something about it! This kit did a great job but it took about 2 or so hours and a lot of elbow grease to get there but it was worth the effort as the headlight looks great in fact almost new. On some of the worst areas I had to complete the sanding process 4 times and apply the clarification formula numerous times after that. If you’re willing to put the effort in you will get the desired results but please don’t think it’s a quick process and in my opinion someone that struggles with physical tasks may have real issues completing the process so please take this into consideration before purchasing.

Works as advertised
I rarely comment and review products but this one although very skeptical the product worked as advertised in a short time of application for both headlights about total 30 minutes a distinct improvement. Great development product!

Does what it says on the box!
I wasnt sure about whether this would be as good as the reviews so i took a before photo. I was amazed by the results and it totally justified the positive reviews. Quick, easy and does a great job. Would highly recommend for heavily oxide/yellow headlights.
