I have an Olympus om-d e-m1 with built in stabilisation, do I need to turn off the lens stabilisation and can I do so?

The best results with this lens on an Olympus body will be with the camera stabilization off and the lens OIS switched on

Is there a larger lens than this that will work with a dmcg7?

I bought a 2nd hand 500mm Tamron SP2 mirror lens, and an m4/3 adapter for about £100 total. It works well *but* no AF (maybe that's obvious!) and depth of field is very tight. But that is part of the joys of super telephoto work! And I use a DMC-G7. Hope that helps.

! understand that this lens is also good at macro; is it?

It is not a proper macro lens but it has very close focus and is great for photographing butterflies etc. I guess by using an extension tube you could reduce the closest focus considerably though I have not tried this myself. It is a superb zoom lens and sharp at widest aperture.

Is this lens compatible with my lumix dmc g1 camera?

It has the micro four thirds lens mount, so should be ok .
