Great for Travel and Backup Power with Efficient Design and Pass Through Charging
I have been very pleased with my EcoFlow RIVER 2 Max portable power station. It is lightweight, compact, and easy to carry, which makes it practical for home backup, camping, or travel. The compact size is a good feature, especially when space is at a premium, and I plan to use this power station with a portable refrigerator and freezer on road trips, where I really appreciate not having to dedicate much storage space. It still offers an excellent variety of power options, including 110V AC outlets, 12V DC output, and both USB Type A and USB Type C ports. That flexibility makes it easy for me to keep a wide range of devices powered without hauling around a heavy battery pack. Charging performance has also been impressive. The battery recharges quickly, and the EcoFlow display and app make it easy for me to monitor battery level, input, and output in real time. One of the key reasons I chose this model is its pass through charging capability, which lets me charge the unit while simultaneously powering devices. That feature adds a lot of flexibility during outages and travel situations where continuous power matters. My only disappointment came when I tried using it during a recent power outage with my ResMed AirSense 11 CPAP machine. The AirSense 11 requires 24V DC power, while the RIVER 2 Max only provides 12V DC output. Because of that, I had to plug the ResMed power brick into the 110V AC outlet instead of running it directly from DC. It worked and powered my CPAP without any issues, but using AC is less efficient because the battery first converts its internal DC power to AC, and then the ResMed power supply converts it back to 24V DC. That extra power conversion wastes energy and reduces overall runtime compared with a direct DC setup. Another thing I discovered is that the AirSense 11 uses a proprietary power connector rather than a standard barrel connector, so I cannot simply use a generic 24V adapter cable. Anyone planning to run this CPAP from battery power will need a compatible converter cable designed specifically for the AirSense 11. Even with that minor limitation, I am very happy with this power station. It is well built, easy to use, and versatile. Once I add the correct DC converter cable for my CPAP, I expect it to provide significantly longer runtime during future power outages. Overall, I would definitely recommend it.

(STILL) Totally Satisfied- Update after a year
So I've been researching solar generators for a couple years now, reading/watching about anything I can find & Ecoflow has been the front runner on almost every review I've seen. My main interest in these was for back up power in case of the "dreaded grid failure" here at home, plus I have a little camp out in the woods of Alabama, 600 miles away that I spend about 4 weeks a year at & when the power goes out there, it's DARK! I mainly just need to power my coffee maker, mini fridge, ice maker, microwave, a lamp & charge my tool batteries. I decided on purchasing the River 2 Max & I LOVE it! It's small, weighs under 15 pounds, has 4 AC outputs & 4 DC. When it arrived it was charged to 30%, I had it up to 100% in a little over 30 minutes. It also has the inverter built in, so no power brick to pack up & can also be charged by your vehicle or solar panel. For glamping, using around the backyard when you don't want to run an extension cord or have AC power in your vehicle, this thing is perfect. I do not have any regrets buying this unit, I would recommend it to anyone & it's very inexpensive for what you get, compared to what I've researched. It also ships quickly & Ecoflow's communication is outstanding before & after the sale. UPDATE: Of my three solar generators, this is still my go-to & favorite. It's been a great during power outages at home, keeping my internet, Wi-Fi & some lights on. I've taken it camping & I use it at my cabin when I don't want to run extension cords. My latest use, I've been providing music & public address system for my class reunions for 25 years. This past weekend was our 50th, yes I'm old. One of the biggest hassles is dealing with my 4 outlet, heavy duty extension cord. Besides hauling it, trying to avoid a trip hazard & trying to hide the big ugly thing, it's heavy & a pain to roll back up. This time I used my River 2 Max & it was a piece of cake. I had everything confined to one small area, powered my sound system & laptop for over 6 hours, with no unsightly cables. It also made set-up & packing out much easier & faster. It still had over 70% power left when I shut it down & bonus, it's about 5 lbs lighter than my extension cord. I also found the app very handy to keep an eye on the power usage. I have no doubts this unit will outlast me. Thank you Eco-Flow for your fine products, had I started with Eco-Flow, it would be the only brand I own.

My go to power source now
I have had the River 2 Max as well as a River 2 for a few weeks now. I have been around portable power stations, batteries, solar, and generators for a long time and have been waiting for a portable unit that used LiFePo4 batteries for awhile now. I currently have an 8.64Kwh LiFePo4 battery bank with inverters for backup of may whole house, this can be vital during hurricane season, though it's not portable in the least bit. I am very picky about my power quality and do not tolerate simulated sine-wave inverters, so I was excited when the new River series was announced featuring both pure sinewave output as well as LifePo4 battery chemistry. My last small power station used a lead acid battery, had limited solar input ability and only 120w inverter output, though it too was sinewave. I used it for a few years before the battery gave up ( as lead acid batteries do) and have been looking to replace it for some time. I have been doing a few craft shows recently and wanted power for my tent, power connection at these events costs a fair bit and can reduce your placement options as you have to be along a side with power. Generators are not allowed due to noise and emissions, so a battery is really the only option. I used this at a show a week after receiving it and was beyond thrilled, it powered the lights in my tent along with keeping my card machine and phone charged and could have done so for a long time. The river series is small enough that I can just put it in a bag and bring it along without worrying about it taking up space that I need for inventory, stands and tables. When not doing shows the versatility keeps it from just sitting on a shelf also, I have tried this as a UPS for my full computer desk setup and it switched over flawlessly without any of the devices even noticing power had gone out (unplugged from the wall) The fast charging is amazing, rarely does a power emergency happen when I'm prepared and I can be quite forgetful as well, so being able to charge to full in the time it takes me to pack up the car for a craft fair is incredibly helpful. Charging with solar is about as easy as it gets, I have a couple of the 100w rigid Ecoflow panels and managed to get 201w out of them just laying them against the side of the house in the right direction. I also have the 110w folding panel and though it is a bit more effort to setup, it is super portable and has a nice case. The solar is actually so easy to use that I haven't been plugging my river units into the wall to charge, I have just been leaning a panel outside and charging them up in no time. I have actually found myself using both my river 2 max and river to charge my laptop and phone while working away from my desk, as its easer than reaching an outlet. only time will tell how everything holds up, but I am thrilled with the value I am getting out of these units right now.

Brick warning. โ๏ธ
Worked fine until the firmware bricked my unit. Itโs still under warranty, I was given 2 options. I can repair or replace with a refurbished unit. I opted for repair, but customer service now telling itโs not repairable. So now I gotta pay to send this to EcoFlow And take a gamble on a refurbished unit. Itโs now stuck in โoverloadโ it now just shuts itself off automatically stays stuck at 17% because it shuts itself down I have no way to drain the power and try to recharge and โresetโ the battery. Plus you need the app to control/ change settings/ view power usage of your unit, the catch is you need internet. But you bought the battery for off grid? Sucks if thereโs no internet. Prior to this I wouldโve given 5 stars-even overlooking the flaw with the app. Youโre better off buying a different brand.

Fan
I'm a fan of Ecoflow products. I have several sizes of their units, and they never let me down. I use manly for power outage. You should know what your application is to select unit. From powering my refrigerator, to lights, to wireless. Great product.

Nice for camping
The power station came packaged very nicely. Had plenty of protection to protect during shipping. Instruction were good. Doesnโt take long to charge. The app you use is useful. Mine though will not charge past 99%. Not a big deal to me. From research I have found that to be quite common. I use this to run a portable fridge freezer and it ran it for 28 hrs to 0 %. I would have loved to purchased the bigger unit but this was on sale. So I purchased this one. I do not give 5 stars unless 100% perfect. This is 95% perfect and Iโm honest on reviews.

Easy to charge & use!
Received the EchoFlow River 2 Max today. I am a 65 year old female who does resistance machines and strengthening exercises. Thought it was easy to grab handle and lift power station out of the box. Easy to plug in and start charging. Initial charge took about 40 minutes. Easy to plug in a device to the power source and hit power on buttons to use the device. Brightness of numbers on screen were bright enough to read. Love the feature of the app on my phone to view where I was on the charging cycle as well as how much power my plugged in device was using. Also nice to see how many hours I can run that device. App was also easy to use. We purchased this power station to run a red light therapy mat in our van while on vacation so I could do the therapy while traveling and to run a vehicle refrigerator when the van is not running. However, the functionality will allow us to run the freezer or refrigerator in times when storms cause a power outage as well. I did not purchase the solar panels at the time of purchase of the power station as we were not sure we would need them especially for our original purpose so felt the price was reasonable especially if lasts 10 years. We do not plan to do any camping but do think we will find many uses for this power station. In fact, we are already talking about getting the larger one for times of power outage.

UPDATED: Delivers what it is supposed to...
UPDATE 2: I'm happy to report that the unit performed perfectly during a seven hour long night of astrophotography using both types of DC outputs (cigarette lighter and DC5521 port) to run both the telescope mount and wireless control unit, including dew heaters. The gear used up 40% of the capacity, consistent with the reported output wattage. In addition, EcoFlow has followed through on sorting out the refund on the original unit as promised. So, again, very impressed with their customer service and definitely can recommend dealing with them! UPDATE 1: I am updating my review based on a couple of weeks of interaction with EcoFlow's customer service. After being quickly contacted by them and walked through some troubleshooting, I was asked to return the original unit for a replacement. This proceeded relatively smoothly and a new unit eventually arrived on my doorstep the other day. I am very happy to say that the DC outputs on this unit work as expected; where the original unit showed OVERLOAD and shut down, this one powers my astrophotography gear properly with no such issues. I will put it through some overnight imaging testing within the next week or so but I have every reason to expect that the unit will perform as advertised and expected. I am looking forward to using it for many years to come! A BIG shout out to EcoFlow's customer service - they were unfailingly polite, responded rapidly, and "made things right" as they worked to resolve the issues I was experiencing. Once the remaining charges on my card are resolved (and I have properly night-tested the unit), I anticipate updating my rating to 5 stars to reflect their helpfulness and the products' capabilities. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This unit was purchased after a fair bit of research and comparison to similar units by other manufacturers. It came well packaged, charged VERY quickly, is surprisingly compact and portable and has an extensive feature list including an app which connects to the unit & monitors/controls it. It was purchased with the intent of using it to run an astrophotography setup from the DC outputs. I've used other brands' smaller capacity units to do this without problem and looked forward to the larger capacity and extra features this unit advertised. This is where the issues arose. Immediately I ran into OVERLOAD messages & disconnects when using either of the DC outputs. These should be capable of up to 3A at 12V, but despite my device(s) drawing only 25 W the unit would consistently shut down with the OVERLOAD message. Thinking that my heaters were potentially causing current spikes beyond the 3A limit, I used the cigarette lighter output (which supports 8A) but again, same issue. The unit SHOULD be able to handle 100W+ on the DC outputs but I could not get my 20-35 W to function. I was able to use an AC adapter from the AC outputs to run one of the devices without problem, but that requires using the adapter (rather than just a DC cable) and the inefficiency of converting the battery to AC and then back to DC again; run time was less impressive as a result. I don't know if this is typical or if I have a defective unit, so further investigation is warranted. I DID update the firmware to the current version but it did NOT help with this issue.

EcoFlow River 2 Max is compact yet powerful portable power station, ideal for all my camping needs, and off-grid adventures. Also comes handy if I have some emergency anywhere at home or while travelling. It can go from 0-100% in just 60-70minutes via AC power, which is significantly faster than most competitors. It also supports solar charging with a different panel which I yet have to try , car, and USB-C charging works super fine with a little delay than 60min mark. the battery lifespan to over 3000 cycles, meaning it will last for years without significant degradation. Itโs absolutely easy to carry and transport, making it perfect for outdoor adventures or small home backup solutions. Multiple Output Ports: It offers two AC outlets, multiple USB ports (including 100W USB-C), a DC car port, and a solar input, allowing you to charge everything from laptops to camera to drone batteries even a small fridge or other small appliances. CPAP Capable All Night
Device is excellent and works amazingly. Quiet enough for use at night though the fans do turn on and the screen does too. Took this out on a boat overnight this summer for a CPAP and was able to use it with humidifier and heat in the summer all night long while also charging my phone. Great size and efficient to use. Charging the battery was very quick during the day from a generator too.
