Economical, Easy to Use, Bright Laser 223/5.56
I needed a quick, easy, and budget option to set up iron sights on my first 5.56 AR and this CVLife Bore Sight Laser for 223(5.56) did the job very well. It's still essential to go to a range and dial in a zero at proper distance with live rounds, but this will get you on paper and save range time and ammo. The package includes a laser cartridge in 223(5.56) and six batteries. The cartridge takes 3 stacked batteries at once, and each set of 3 batteries lasts approximately one hour, so 2 hours of total use from included batteries.Function:Simply unscrew the endcap from the cartridge, insert 3 batteries, screw the endcap back on, and your laser is on. Once the laser is functioning, you simply place the cartridge into the receiver and *gently* ease the bolt forward until the cartridge is fully seated. You don't want the bolt slamming the laser cartridge into battery as you would a live round. Your chamber may not fully close, but that's ok as the cartridge simply needs to be held in place by the bolt and centered in the bore. You now have a red laser dot shining out of your barrel to which you can sync your iron sights or red dot. I only have about 20 feet of "targeting" distance in my home, so I was mainly concerned with getting the windage adjusted on my iron sights as accurate elevation would be near impossible at this close range. But now I can go to the range with a little more confidence in my initial accuracy and begin the real work.Verdict:Since you'll need to go to the range anyway, this laser cartridge offers an easy starting point for zeroing your sights at a budget price. Checking the alignment of sights between range visits is also a viable use option, but this functionality would be improved with the addition of an on/off switch as removing and installing the batteries for each use is a little cumbersome. At 20 feet the laser is very bright, but somewhat "fuzzy", so I'm unsure how accurate this would be over longer distances. Overall I am very happy with this as it does the job advertised, just be advised that it is only the beginning of the zeroing process. I expect to use this often.

Great tool for sighting in
Very accurate for sighting in and will save you a lot of money on ammo and time having to adjust your sights. Save yourself the headache we all have and spend more time having fun out on the range or hunting like we all do.

Bore sight for best accuracy and minimal ammo wasted.
I should have bought this type of (chamber) bore sight a long time ago. It’s way more accurate than the type of bore sight that you insert into the end of the barrel, for multiple calibers barrels. As I have noticed with bore sights, the lasers are not very strong , so I tend to use them in low light or at night just to get the optic close. At night the laser will easily reach out to 50yds or more. During the bright of day, not so much. I will probably buy a few more calibers just to have based on the accuracy over my other bore sight. Update: I bought the 7.62 to add to the 556. These are awesome bore sights. Chamber bore sights are the best option and are dead on with accuracy. I end up sighting my optics at night. I can easily see the laser at 100 yds. Just range something at your yardage and put the laser on it. You’ll see it no problem through the optic. Adjust until the dot is centered with the reticle. So simple.

Unbreakable, Sharp Plastic, Battery Packaging.
It works moderately well for a budget bore sight, was able to sight in a DDM4V7 at 100 yards, the most frustrating part was the plastic wrapping on the batteries. I have no idea why it was necessary to wrap each (6) battery in unbreakable plastic that required to customer to have the skilled hands of a neurosurgeon to unwrap. Nearly cut myself 10 times, would be much easier to put them in a plastic snap tube, for future considerations.
