Great First Books
Bought with a couple of the other touch and feel books for my baby granddaughter. Now she's a little older she knows all the words but still likes touching the animal' 'fur' etc. Very reasonably priced too.

Excellent big chunky book.
Lovely big book, chunky pages are great for little hands. It's well made and nice bright colours and shiney elements that catch my son's attention. This is the only book I've ever been able to sit and read properly with my son who is now 11 months old. With other story books he has snatched them away, bashes the pages, rips them or turns pages back again so we can't follow the story. We like that it is just one picture/word on each page. This has made it so he can hold the book and turn the pages to the page that he wants to look at. He touches the picture and I read the word of the picture he has chosen. This is so much better for us as he is happy holding the book and he is becoming familiar with the words. I feel one word per page is easier for him at this stage rather than having multiple pictures/words to confuse him or a bigger story that we can't follow as he wants to turn the pages back and forth. Much more relaxing being able to read but led by him. So I'm very happy that we've found this book and we've ordered another 'Baby Touch and Feel' book as he really enjoys it.

the touch part is a bit small
Bought this book for my daughter, it is nice book, the pictures are vibrant in colours, but the touch parts are very small, we got two other books as present (the titles are "I love kittens" and "I love bears") that is not on Amazon, the touch parts of which were quite big and easy for baby to feel.

Disappointing
DK (Dorling Kindersley) is usually a guarantee of best quality. This one follows in that it a robust, well-produced book with wipe clean surfaces throughout the 12 pages. However, the 'Touch and Feel: First Words' part of this production is disappointing. "Butterfly" seems a very long word for a baby to learn. The 'Touch and Feel' areas are exceedingly small parts of images & I have doubts as to whether a baby could find the areas, even when shown. The cat's whiskers, one of the areas, are very thin, fine indents in the page. Material 'Touch and Feel' areas are so small that I only found some of them by moving a finger across the images & they all feel much the same when I do find them. I doubt if a baby would comprehend any difference between them & the rest of the page. Some of the areas are just a tiny piece of shiny paper inserted, which feels the same as the rest of the page. I had hoped for much larger areas of very different textures but this book is a poor production in content.
