Razer Strider Chroma Hybrid Gaming Mouse Mat with Chroma RGB

I'm coming from several years on the Logitech PowerPlay system. My new metal desk renders the wireless charging moot (hence getting a new mat to reduce wire clutter and to try something new), and I've been through a half dozen extras of the included G240 cloth mat, buying replacements around twice a year. The Razer Strider is a hybrid mat - somewhere between having the smooth, speedy glide of a hard surface, and the relatively high friction and precision of a cloth mat. I'd say 40% of the former and 60% of the latter for this mat specifically. So far, it's been a smooth transition coming from pure cloth (I imagine coming from a purely hard surface style mat would be more jarring). It's also my first time on a "desk cover" style mat, where you're meant to host your entire kbm setup on top of the mat with any other accessories that can justify being nearby. I'm happy with the look, and a big plus is that there's much more real estate for the mouse - the G240 wasn't exactly spacious, and the real estate here feels enormous by comparison. There's enough to arrange your setup in all kinds of ways and still have more than enough room dedicated to mouse use. It's slightly different coming from a smaller pad, which you'd normally position first then kind of position everything else "around" it. Having a larger pad that can host a variety of tech means the overall setup process is more holistic and integrated rather than isolated around different zones, if that makes sense. One thing that surprised me - the premium feel that started from unboxing the thing and getting it set up on my desk. It was rolled pretty tight but laid perfectly flat with no raised areas or persistent curls. Zero wrinkles, zero creases to speak of. It can't be overstated how *nice* that is. Even the Logitech hardmat included with the Powerplay system had a persistent curve that took several weeks to hammer down (which I never had the patience to sit through, which was a major factor in sticking to their cloth mats since they come packaged flat), and the cloth mats would curl or develop a crease for hours if you needed to roll them up for any reason. As mentioned before, I also had to replace them regularly - the sides would fray and unravel relatively quickly, and repeated cleanups to wipe off pet hair and debris would marr and eventually discolor the surface (not chemically, but texturally there'd be those lighter areas from wiping small sections of the material in different directions). A closeup shot showcases the quality of the surface and stitching. An extremely minor nitpick (more against certain video reviews than against the mat itself) - a lot of video reviews claim that the stitching on the edges is low profile enough that you can't feel them gliding the mouse over the edges of the pad. I disagree, at least based on my mouse model (G502 X Plus). There's a subtle but very noticeable tactile bump if you happen to move your mouse over the stitching. It's not jarring per se, but it *will* mess up your aim if you're in the middle of a tense 1v1 aim duel in, say, Valorant. Interestingly enough, Razer in its own marketing and on the box make zero claims about precision being uninterrupted by the stitching, so there's no reason to hold this against them. The bottom line is it's quite subtle, but expect it to affect moment to moment precision. For me personally, I appreciate having a gentle reminder to reposition my mouse, and on my previous pad, I never really had problems accidentally gliding off, and the available surface was much smaller. One less minor nitpick is that the surface has more of a texture to it compared to pure cloth mats. While not as "hard edged" as hard mats, it'll be noticeable. So if you have sensitive skin, you might want to think about getting something like wrist gaiters to alleviate. For me, it's not a problem. So this mat represents the best of both worlds - it has a glide reminiscent of a hardmat, but also retains a lot of the precision and control of a cloth mat. Like pure hardmats, it's water resistant and so far seems resilient, leaving no marks after vigorous wiping, but is also flexible and can be rolled up for transport with zero fear of developing persistent curls or creases. Strong recommend if you're interested in a hybrid style surface.

I've only had this mat for about a week, so I'm giving it 5 stars for now, but I'm leaving this review open to be edited depending on how it holds up long term. Coming from the Razer Goliathus, this is a clear upgrade. The continuous RGB lighting around the edges looks way better than the Goliathus (where the lighting felt more limited and segmented). The Strider Chroma is also noticeably more comfortable thanks to the hybrid soft/hard surface, and the slightly bigger size is perfect for a full keyboard + mouse setup. Visually it's stunning. The 19 RGB zones blend beautifully and it really ties the whole desk together. Now, here's my honest concern: I went through two Goliathus mats and on both of them the lighting died after about a year of use. Bought one, it failed, bought a second one, same exact issue. So I really hope Razer fixed those quality issues with the Strider Chroma and that this one lasts me at least 5 years without any problems. If the lighting fails within a year like the Goliathus did, I'll come back and drop this to 0 stars, because at this price point that would honestly be a scam. But for now, it deserves the full 5 stars. It's gorgeous, the lighting is incredible, and it feels like a premium product. Will update this review down the road. Fingers crossed.

Wrong size; Actual size received is 14.5" x 35.4". Not a super big deal but still a little annoying for the price. Otherwise great mousepad. Very bright, good texture/surface (mouse feels noticeably smoother to glide on during games than regular soft mat), and good slip resistance. Last mat I had constantly slid down on the mouse side, I think this one will too but at a much slower rate. 10/10 Mousepad 6/10 sizing accuracy.

Perfect size for a full keyboard and mouse. Lights work well with Razer software and the material doesn't absorb debris. Mouse tracks well and keyboard keeps its grip.

Upgraded to this from a $10 one that ive used for a year. this one is AMAZING. my old one only had 2 rgb zones and this one has a BUNCH. even better, it has no stitching so no more irritation on my wrists/arms! it looks really clean with my setup. love the customizability. ive been using razer keyboards so I had no problem using razer Synapse and Chroma. EDIT: after a few days of using it, it does lay completely flat! its also surprisingly easy to clean. my mouse glides AMAZINGLY on it and im truly obsessed with how bright it is. if you dont like it as bright, you can turn the brightness down through Razer Chroma. I will update in probably a year on how it handles long term daily use! but so far, I love it!

The surface offers a very consistent glide that seems to be quite resistant to humidity and temperature. It has a rough texture, which some could find not as comfy if they come from average cloth pads. Though I personally really like the roughness of the surface because, from my experience with other pads, this roughness is what contributes to the consistency and durability of it and is why it's a hybrid mousepad. The pad is overall quite hard with almost no give which also contributes to the hybrid feeling and the consistency, especially if you use mice with smaller skates since they won't sink in this pad unless you press down quite hard. I don't think you can get better edge stitching at around this price. The edges aren't sharp like unstitched pads and they're also not bumpy like many stitched ones because it's 99% flush with the surface on the Strider. Being 450x400mm it's the same size as most other big brand large version mousepads. I personally wish there was a slightly larger square version with more height at around $35, although it's not an issue at all unless you're using a VERY low sensitivity. The rubber base stickiness depends on the desk. I have no issues on mine and you can always spray a small amount of water on the desk or use some thin double-sided tape if you have issues with yours. The Razer logo doesn't get in the way at all. Very well made and placed. So far it's like a 9-9.5/10 for me, easily being the best pad I've used, and I've used like 10 other pads.

Great mousepad, people say that it is a fast pad, but in reality it’s not that fast! I had to use it for a little bit to get used to it and the glide is SUPER consistent, and it’s easy to clean and keeps its glide if washed once in a while by brushing with a damp cloth. The texture can be a little rough but also not that bad I don’t notice it honestly only in the beginning or when it’s very freshly washed. It is often compared to the artisan hien and honestly this is better, for longevity, price, and accessibility. Overall great mousepad, great quality and great job from razer.

Alors, dans un premier temps j'étais très content et satisfait. Le tapis est grand, il glisse bien et résiste très bien à l'eau. Le problème, c'est qu'au fil du temps, la crasse pénètre le textile et est difficilement nettoyable vu qu'il agit comme une matière hydrophobe? Mais je l'utilise toujours, le reste est impeccable.

Parece que es un buen mousepad, se siente de buena calidad, no es molesta su textura. En cuanto al rendimiento vengo de un Qck+ y se siente un movimiento más libre, no hace que empeore tu AIM, al contrario ahora el tiempo de transición con tu puntero de "A a B" es más rápido sin perder precisión. Creó que no volveré jamás a los mousepads de 100% tela después de probar esto. "Digo creó por qué va de perlas, pero hace falta probar su durabilidad" IMPORTANTE: Por alguna razón con los mouse de la misma marca funciona de forma brutal, ya que al utilizar un Deathadder v2 y un Razer Viper Ultimate se siente perfecto; es rápido y a la vez extremadamente preciso cuando hay que hacer microajustes. En comparación con un Logitech G502, un Superlight X y un Hyperx PulseFire Haste, estos se sienten aún más rápidos, sin embargo el control no es tan fino como con el de los primeros. No digo que funcione mal con mouses de otras marcas, simplemente es increíblemente preciso con mouses de la misma Brand. Podría explicarlo de esta forma: Con un mouse Razer tienes una velocidad de 3 y un control de 5, con el resto de mouses una velocidad de 5 y un control de 3.

Wer billig kauft, der kauft zwei mal. Mit Glass Glides so gut wie auf Glas oder Holz mit Kunststoff auch besser als alles andere außer Hartplastik, Holz, Glas etc. Mega geiles Pad, wenn es jetzt auch noch hält, dann hat Razer mich als Kunden gewonnen.
