Moving on is one of the hardest things we do — and almost no one teaches us how. This Is Me Letting You Go is a collection of honest, emotionally resonant essays by Heidi Priebe that explores what it truly means to release the people, relationships, and chapters of life we aren't ready to leave behind. Whether you're navigating a breakup, the end of a friendship, a lost opportunity, or a version of yourself you've outgrown, this book meets you exactly where you are. Priebe writes with rare candor about the messy, non-linear reality of letting go — the grief, the resistance, the moments of clarity, and ultimately, the unexpected freedom that comes from moving forward. These aren't prescriptive steps or toxic positivity. They are raw, relatable meditations for anyone who has ever loved something deeply and had to choose to release it anyway. Perfect for readers who: Are healing after a breakup or the loss of a relationship Feel stuck between holding on and moving forward Love personal essay collections with emotional depth Want comfort and perspective during a period of transition or grief A thoughtful gift for a friend going through heartbreak or a meaningful read for anyone at a crossroads. Review: Inspiring! - I read this book after going through an unexpected and heart wrenching break up. It made me cry at the pure accuracy of some of the scenarios that were given, particularly "Read this if no one text you Good Morning" and made me smile at the way love, emotions and an appreciation of what we had were still given permission to still exist without shame or thinking you were being weak for not getting on with your life and that you were better off without that person in it. It has really helped me to see and feel things differently, that it's ok to be feeling the way that I do and that there is hope for the future. This is a book that I know I will pick up again and again when I have a "wobble" it's beautifully written in short sections which don 't overwhelm the content and give you the opportunity to digest the words and their meaning fully. Thank you Heidi you have set me on a positive path looking at the road ahead and not through the rear view mirror! Review: The wisdom in this book is timeless - Beautifully written and profound. Manages to deal with all the aspects of loving, healthy relationships and enduring heart break, whilst encouraging self actualisation independent of others.

I would recommend this book.
Very helpful in a short easy to read/reread way. I like this book because of the contents table, you can go straight to the sections you need. I like this book because its helpful to me after breaking up with someone in a respectful and amacable way. Each section is like an affirmation to yourself. They're only like three or four pages long. Very good book. Highly recommend.

Passionate, honest and eye-opening
Great book to read and have close by as a reminder of what is inevitable and healthy for us - change and transformation. Honest and passionate delivery by the author, who asks herself and answers difficult questions. If you are going though breakup or feeling it might be the beginning of the end of your relationship this information will be very helpful and also nurturing.

A heart-warming companion while in the throes of heartbreak, and an awkward aunt once through it…
This was around the 3.5-4 star mark for me. I started reading it while swirling in the midst of the emotions; it felt like a warm hug and a cup of tea made of poetic bits and bobs. As time grew on, and as I began to move on from the mess of heartbreak, it was less companion-of-despair, and more “sounds lovely in theory, but not true in practice”. All in all, a heartwarming, comforting read while in the midst of the emotions, but once you start to emerge, and look at it all (life, love and all that goes on between the two) more objectively, it beings to read more like a pithy, fairytale-esque you just want to get to the end of. Between the poetic theory and the harsh reality of life exists a giant gulf, and this book sits right in there.

Beautiful, enlightens
This book means alot for some of my friends too. Its good to have a book that says "your feelings are valid, we've been there too". Now whenever I feel down I'm gonna start opening pages of this book and think that people are also experiencing what I feel, it's beautifully written.

Seriously great book. Read it!
I cried and cried and cried... I'm going through a break up and this book could not be more accurate. There is a combination of methods to move forward and also some chapters are stories and almost like her talking to her ex as well. I highly recommend if you are going through a break up or having a hard time to let someone go. You will cry but it will help.

Enjoyed it thoroughly - feel your feelings
Whether you're trying to let go of someone whom you've had a long or short relationship with, you may find this book a great addition to your processing. I loved the short stories and perspectives that Heidi shares. Some of the stories are quite romantic in my eyes (which I find endearing but it may not be for everyone). It offers new perspectives in how to look at the end of one's relationship with someone while still yearning to connect with that person. At the end of the day, it's the stories we tell ourselves about why and what happened that will allow us to move on. It's what you do with the time and not time itself that heals.
