Perfect mp3 player for youngsters
The Sony 8 GB Walkman MP3 Player is a fantastic device for music and audiobook lovers, offering great sound quality and a simple, user-friendly design. With 8 GB of storage, it holds a solid collection of songs and audiobooks, making it perfect for long listening sessions without needing constant file management. My daughter loves using it, and it’s been a great way for her to enjoy her favorite pop music and audiobooks without distractions. The battery life is impressive, lasting through multiple days of use before needing a recharge. The controls are intuitive, making it easy to navigate through playlists and chapters, and the lightweight design makes it comfortable to carry anywhere. For anyone looking for a dedicated MP3 player without the complexities of a smartphone, this Walkman is a great choice. It’s reliable, well-built, and delivers a great listening experience. I liked this so much, I bought a second one because my son wanted one as well - and he has a smart phone!

Top quality MP3 player
I've been using the Walkman for almost a year now and it's very good. Yes it is a bit pricey for what it is but having bought a cheaper alternative before from some company you've never heard of which failed after a month the old saying you get what you pay for stands true. It's easy to use pretty much the same as any other MP3 player just drag and drop/copy paste music onto it. Button layout is self explanatory. Battery life is superb. I use this A LOT and battery life easily lasts 30-40 hours. No problem. Sound quality is fine as you'd expect from a Sony walkman. The cons with this is the price but buy sh** buy twice stands true as explained earlier. It doesn't have Bluetooth which is disappointing but not a deal breaker for me personally. It would be nice if it had a belt clip but it's flat and small so easily fits in your pocket. Finally it would be nice if it had a bit more memory 8GB is a bit small. Overall if you're looking for a quality MP3 player that will last a long time. I highly recommend this.

A bit dated now.
I wanted to replace an older Sony MP3 player and this seemed like a good idea at the time. It works ... and it works quite well really ... putting music on it is simple, the buttons make sense and are easy to use. It could do with a bit more volume perhaps, it's not bad, but maybe just a bit more would be useful. No Bluetooth, which isn't a deal breaker for me but would have been nice ... my major problem with it is charging it. It really doesn't like the more modern fast chargers and tends to overheat and sulk. I now charge it from a power bank to ensure it doesn't over-heat.

It's a Sony Digital Walkman. It works reliably and well, like all Sony products.
Over the last few years I've drifted towards Sony in general for most of my electronic products. First I got the Xperia phone, then a very decent pair of headphones, a smartBAND followed by a smartWATCH (only changing as my band went missing) moving up to my amazing 43" TV. Up until getting this item I used my phone for listening to music at work. It drains the battery and means I have to put music on my phone. This little gem stores plenty of music for my needs, plays it all at easily high enough volume and of superior sound quality (using my own Sony earphones of course, I haven't tried the ones that come with it) and packs plenty of BASS if the option is selected. The battery life is superb; each working day I probably am playing music for on average five hours and I get through the week on one charge. I've made little use of the FM tuner, but it's there and it works. It has the standard "hold" feature to prevent you from accidentally skipping a track or changing volume. The screen serves the purpose it's designed to do, it's not going to knock your socks off, but it's going to tell you what's playing, who's it by and how long the track is in a very easy to read colour format. As much of a Sony fan boy as I've somehow become over recent years I still tell it like I see it and this is a great piece of kit, it feels well built and I'd be surprised if, given sufficient care and attention, I won't get at least three years of use out of it. Even though I picked this up at a reduced price (£55) it does still feel a bit overpriced, in my humble opinion, something more like £45 is the fairer price point. Overall, very happy indeed.

Disappointing compared to previous Sony walkmans
I bought this as a replacement for my old Sony Walkman which I dropped seeing as this was a newer model at the same price I figured it would be as least as good if not better but overall was a disappointment. It feels flimsy and I doubt will take too much punishment, however you could argue as its so lightweight is ideal for jogging etc. My main issues are that unlike the previous model there is no shuffle facility on the main screen - you simply pick a track and have to make sure that the settings are set to shuffle otherwise it will play songs in alphabetical order, also the volume is very low for some songs and a bit higher for others (there is a noise restriction facility which I ensured was off) this was not present in the old model all tracks played the same? I can only assume it's down to file type. When plugged into speakers or car radio I have to sometimes adjust the levels on the units themselves to get a loud enough volume when the MP3 player is up to max On the plus side the pc interface (media go, you have to download)is fast and helps you build / import playlists quickly and without issue , the songs seem to upload very quick, I went for the blue version which is light and slimline - Radio is a good add on and enhances the product. Overall it's a decent player on a standalone testing, aside from the volume issues / but the older version was far supeeior

Easy peasy and quality sound
Brilliant little player that gives a nice rich sound and is very easy to drag and drop your music files straight from Windows media player . All my music is on an old Windows 7 laptop and so I was a bit worried this new player might not be compatible but yes ! The laptop found it within seconds and then it was just drag n drop to simply drop my albums into the players music file . Build quality is fine for the price but like everyone says the supplied headphones are just a get you up and running item so changing them for better ones is a must really down the line . All in all I'd recommend this player to anyone and for the price your certainly getting a decent player that's a Sony not some obscure unheard of make which makes it a steal really . In conclusion it's a great little player that's worth every penny but do change the headphones when your feeling a bit flush to get the best out of it .

Awful Battery life. Avoid
Bought two of these to replace old Sony Walkman's that we had owned for years. They were wonderful, unfortunately I can't say the same for this new model. The battery life is nearly non-existent. It lasts for about 30 minutes, then turns itself off saying that it needs to be charged. Charging takes about 20 minutes and it then says 'battery full'. Try again and it only lasts about 30 minutes. The same problem occurs with both of them. The second one was bought in a second colour so that they were distinguishable so this can't be just one dodgy unit. It's too late for Amazon to give a refund, so am just having to write off the money paid. I would avoid these poor quality walkmans.

An excellent MP3 Player
Difficult to overstate how happy I am with this player. It lets you play your MP3s by: • Artist • Album • Genre Sound is great, with the Sony Bass Boost making a useful improvement, especially for rock music. There's also a graphic equaliser function, though I haven't used it yet, as I'm finding the default sound adequate. Memory is 8GB, which I should think will let you store about 1000 tracks. The FM radio is also great — it picks up the channels well, and has much better reception than I remember my old DAB radio having. The only demerit is that it has a mini USB port, when USB C would be so much better. All in all, I heartily recommend this player.
