Instructions suggest 1/3 cup. Is this a Cup as the unit of measurement or cup as in 1/3 of the cup/scoop supplied with the detergent?

I use the supplied scoop that came with it - we use about 1/2 of the scoop, (depending on load size of course), as the detergent is really concentrated. Does not take much. I don't physically measure it - just about half of the small scoop included. As you use it, you will see what works for you and your water hardness/load size etc. Hope that helps!

Does it leave white residue on your clothes?

Yes it does. I wash my clothes two or three times

What is the aroma of this laundry detergent? Is it strong or mild?

Been using it for months, I can’t take my clothes smelling or I get migraines. The detergent itself smells citrusy, but it does not make the clothes smell.

Is it safe for a septic tank?

I don't know if it is safe for septic systems, because I don't have a septic system. what I do know is that it works but it has little to no suds.
