Seaquest Tenkara Rod kit 6:4 7:3 9'5" 10'9" 12' 13'5"

Got this rod after deciding to try Tenkara - mostly inspired by the youtube presence known as "The Tenkara Addict". I've been doing catch-and-release fly fishing for about 10 years. Tenkara fishing is very minimalist, which really appeals to me. Having those spare tips in the Seaquest kit is a great plan B. The very first time I tried this Seaquest rod with the longest provided tip, I used the provided furled line, leader ,one of the provided flies and caught 6 trout. The second time I used it I switched over to level line, as there's usually wind in the mountains where I fish. I caught 38 rainbow trout ranging from 6" to 16". The rod worked beautifully even on the bigger fish. I liked it enough to order a 13'+ Seaquest for use in small lakes and larger streams. I don't know how price/performance could get any better. Maybe down the road I will go for a higher priced rod or two, but for now I am very happy.

Our of the box this rod seems competent, and has no defects. I will update more after a few uses and see if it holds up against my other fixed line rods

The rod assembles nicely.When fished it casts accurately and there was no issue with the line extending the maximum length. When the bite occurs the rod shows good sensitivity conveying such and the hookset is positive. I look forward to more fishing with it.

Four stars because the leader line is not great, and the tippet line was very stiff. After upgrading to straight 5x tippet and kevlar furled leader, this setup is rock solid. I have fished it a number of times, and have landed a handful of trout, including a couple in the 12"+ range. Flex is nice, without being too rigid or soft. Casts easily, and has so far been very durable. I have snagged on things many times, and done the no-no of tenkara rods, and given it a few quick tugs to see if it'll come loose, and the tip has held. The line holder is great, but slightly too large. Take it off the rod while fishing, as inevitably you will sling it into the river, and put it back on the collapsed rod to wind the line on. 10/10 would buy again, and I will likely buy one of these for my brother as a gift. If it came with better quality leader and tippet, and the line holder didn't slide off, I would not hesitate to give it 5 stars.

Always wanted to try fly fishing, so got excited when I heard about the simplicity of Tenkara, and this kit seemed like a pretty low risk way of trying it out. Very surprised by the build quality when it arrived, found it easy to setup and get straight out and start practicing my cast. Gobsmacked to catch a 14” brook trout in my first half an hr learning to cast at the local swimming hole. 5 stars - I’m hooked.

Love the Tenkara rod.

Fits nicely in the void between the dirt cheap Chinese telescoping rods for tenkara and the uber-expensive tenkara rods.

Great rod for the price. I have taught myself Tenkara using this Rod and have caught dozens of trout and grayling with it, using tenkara flies, nymphs and dries. I have caught fish up to 3 lb in the Taff in Cardiff, but it did randomly break while playing a fish although it had had its fair use by then. However Seaquest provided with great customer care and replaced the parts that needed replacing. Thanks!

Cannettina perfetta per pescare in riali ristretti, dotata di cimino di ricambio linea e terminali,un pratico tubo per il trasporto sicuro e per finire un ottimo prezzo.Non l'ho ancora provata sul fiume essendo la pesca alla trota che pratico ancora chiusa ma sono sicuro che sarà perfetta.

La confezione ben imballata, la canna sembra buona, ma non ho potuto provarla.... la confezione si presenta con una canna in carbonio una trecciato, due terminali in nailon, un avvolgi lenza è un cimino di ricambio. Calcolando che sono all’inizio di questo sport, a mio avviso rapporto qualità/prezzo sembra buono, calcolando che per una canna tenkara decente, mi avevano chiesto 100€, qui il kit non sembra malvagio
