Product Description GLOBAL tvLINK Magic Eye The Global tvLINK System allows the viewing of high quality Sky satellite, terrestrial and video pictures at a second location. With the added benefit of control, the tvLINK gives the viewer the sense of having a second Sky digibox. On a typical installation the Sky digibox is located in the living room with a second set being either in the kitchen or a bedroom. This means it is possible for the the main location to be watching one of the terrestrial channels, i.e BBC1, whilst the second location watches the Sky channels, i.e Sky Sports. The tvLINK picks up the remote control signal and sends it, via a coax cable back to the Sky digibox where it is decoded internally. This allows the tvLINK to be discreet and unobtrusive in operation Box Contains global eye

Does what it says on the tin as they say
I had no major problems installing this. I'm familiar with the product, having owned one in the past. You will need a spare remote control if you intend to use this in a second room. These are sold separately.Mine came in a "trade pack" marked "not for retail". No instructions were with it.For anyone new to this, there are a few things to check. These will help it to work first time.1. enable the RF Out Power Supply2. make sure that your coaxial cable has a solid connection all the way through3. if you are using a booster, ensure that it has a suitable bypass feature for the Sky Magic EyeNo one should now be using the Sky+ STB. There are some subscription channels that will fail so you will need to either get a Sky+ HD STB or a Sky Q box. This will *not* work with the Sky Q box. Some new models of the Sky HD STBs no longer have a coaxial output. Check yours does before ordering.Enable RF OutPress <Services> 0 0 1 <Select> on your remoteSelect the 'RF Out'/'RF Outlets' menuChange 'RF Outlet Power Supply' to "On" and press <Green> to saveChecking the Coaxial cableThe is a small voltage to power your Magic eye. As with any electrical cable, if the coaxial cable has a small break, the power will not travel from the Sky+ HD STB to your Magic Eye. The power *only* comes out of the RF2 connection, so ensure that this is the one feeding the Magic Eye.Once you've enabled the RF Out power, try the magic eye where you intend to use it. If the red power light comes on, then all is fine and you can get on with using it. If it doesn't, as happened to me, then you'll need to check the coaxial cable.I would suggest that you start at the back of the Sky+ HD STB and ensure that it is working there first. Next check the end of the first cable. In my case, I have two long cables connected to each other. I found that the power was fine at the back of the STB, but not by the time it reached the TV.On checking things through the plugs on the first cable needed to be rewired a little. No soldering, just redoing the plugs on the cable as each was a little loose.BoostersAs with the coaxial cable above, if you are not getting the red power light to work, then you'll need to work on a process of elimination. If the power light is on before the booster, check it immediately after the booster too. If the red LED does not come on after the booster, check it's manual (many are available on the Internet if you've lost yours). Not all support the required bypass feature.Once you have the red LED on at the booster, continue with your checks for the remained coaxial cable.Tip: Rather than have the Magic Eye plugged into the back of your TV, use a short extension (female to male) coaxial cable. Whilst the magic eye is quite light, over time the weight could harm the ariel socket on your TV.

Hidden boxes & Cables
I fitted this into the living room TV.Reason was to hide the sky box out of sight just to keep things clean and tidy.Cables ran behind the wall then behind skirting boards. No boxes or cables in sight so gives it a clean finish. One small niggle, it’s small. When using the remote there is a tiny delay changing channels.Used to this now and doesn’t cause an issue as the overall picture, all you see is the TV on the wall and nothing else

Could not be better
Purchased three of these many many years ago. Thought one had failed, but it was not the device but the cable. They had been plugged in for so long that the connector on the wiring into the SKY box had simply become loose. So now I have a spare. Really surprised that you could still purchase them, just disconnected the old one and plugged the replacement in. It would have worked if it had not been the bad cable connection. Brilliant device, who needs SKY Q!

Brilliant!
Ordered this on Friday afternoon and received Tuesday morning, much quicker than delivery quoted. We already have a feed going from back of sky HD box up to 8 way amplifier in loft which sends the sky to all our tv's. I took the eye out the envelope put it into the ariel socket in back of tv and put ariel into the little box. Thats it, Worked perfectly, took less than a minute. If you've not already set the feed up at the back of sky box or you're wanting to use a second remote, then obviously it's going to require a little more work and patience, but you can easily find the info to do all that online. I'm going to buy at least one more for bedroom tv, and just plan to take remote upstairs when we go to bed. I may buy another remote but then you'll probably end up with different people around the house changing channel, so maybe not!.Works brilliantly and much cheaper than buying one from sky to do the exact same job.

good price
Good price for this item, which connects our bedroom tv to our sky box in the lounge without any wiring. Easy and quick to connect, just plug in to aerial socket at back of tv and pint Sky remote to unit.

Brilliant gadget
Brilliant, I had had to have a man in to sort my Ariel out, and he told me about this, such a great little gadget, far better than the old digi sender, which I could no longer use as there was to much interference! So he told me to order this and he did the Ariel bit. Works great, brilliant picture in my bedroom upstairs.
