The cable is very sturdy - much thicker than normal USB cables at around 7mm across. I'm using this to connect to an astronomical type camera which runs around 120 fps with 12bit 1608×1104 images. I've recorded 100 gigabytes of data with not a single dropped frame. I initially tried without using the combined USB power supply cable and my camera would not work. I tried using the power cable plugged into a typical wall mounted USB "trickle charger" and that did not work. I tried another wall mounted USB PSU rated for 1A and it did work. USB3 devices can consume anywhere between 0.1A (or less) to 0.9A. If your device needs power then I'd suggest getting a 1A rated 5v adapter, even if your device doesn't need that much power. It's best to have an overrated PSU than underrated, which will cause random issues or not work at all. The only minor point is that it is a little heavy and the weight might put strain on the USB port it's plugged into, depending on orientation. But that's easily remedied using a lightweight 0.5m / 1m extension cable for the last leg of the journey. If this cable was lightweight it would be cheap and nasty and probably wouldn't work at all, so you can't have your cake and eat it! I'm really pleased with this cable. It performs 100% reliably and handles my power needy camera sending constant real-time video to my indoors PC with total ease.

je l'ai utilisé pour placer mon PC dans une autre pièce que celle ou se trouve mon écran. j'ai d'abord fait des tests en faisant un copier coller dans un SSD externe , j'était environ a 300mo/sec en USB3 , en sortie du câble donc a 15m j'avais toujours la meme valeur. donc 0 perte de mon coté, très satisfait , sachant que c'est pas pour faire des transferts , mais plutôt utiliser souris/clavier et quelques objets USB.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Excellent cord! I work in fields on base stations this cord keeps me out of severe weather and in my vehicle. I bought a second one for backup in case I lose the first.
