Mega Bloks Halo UNSC Broadsword Midnight Strike

Out of the handful of mega bloks sets that I own, this is the best and largest. At over 700 pieces, it took the better part of the day to sort the pieces and assemble. I like that mega bloks doesn't number the bags because it results in more time required to complete the build. I would feel ripped off if I bought a 700 piece set and finished it in a couple hours. Maybe I'll change my mind if I'm ever crazy enough to get one of the 2000+ piece sets they sell. The broadsword has 3 great mini figures. It includes the master chief with battle damaged armour, Cortana fully painted and the didact, who is the main villain character in halo 4. The entire set is meant to represent the climax of the game and contains enough elements to achieve various scene re-enactments. It would have been nice if the bomb on the broadsword had a detachable warhead for further game accuracy. It has room for one pilot in the cockpit and has a top storage compartment that holds 2 extra friction missiles, an included armaments rack and even Cortana if you lay her down (hubba, hubba..). Mega bloks are generous with the accessories in this set as the master chief gets a choice of 5 weapons plus a grenade. It also includes a sticker sheet that can be used to customise the broadsword. The bad thing is that many of these stickers go over multiple parts. The set is from a few years ago so this is understandable I suppose. It also includes a stand made of transparent blocks that nicely displays the craft when it's finished. All topped off by no missing pieces and a good price, this is another successful product.

Of the 5 sets of Halo Mega Bloks my son received for Christmas, he has opened 4. Of those, 3 sets have missing parts. I'd give these a miss if I were you. Have a look at some of the other reviews - it seems this is a huge problem with these sets. I have ordered the missing parts, but acquiring them is taking rather a lot longer than it should. Seriously unimpressed. Buy Lego instead - it's far more reliable.

My son had this for Xmas as loves to have something to make. Arrived on time and kept end him busy for a while halo products have always been good

Spent hours macking only to find I had two of the same pice right at the end so frustrating

Bought this for my 6 year old. Although he wouldn't be able to do this without his dad's help it's a fantastic kit and has given them hours of entertainment building something a little more challenging. This definitely isn't the type of kit I would buy for a child who's just starting building Lego regardless of age as its not the easiest but it would suit anyone looking for more of a challenge or a parent and child project

Fantastic product, great detail to the game spec, a good build

The set arrived really quickly. The set is great for any halo fan or anyone who enjoys building modal spaceships. It's a good representation of the final mission on Halo 4 called Midnight where the Master Chief uses the broadsword to attack the Didact's ship. An all around set and you get your price for parts and then some!

This is a great model - as usual though it's much harder to build a megabloks model than a Lego one - you need to empty all the bags at once as they are in no particular order. This was a bit too difficult for my 9yr old to build but I quite enjoyed it lol.
