BBB Cycling Chain Link Removal Tool 7-12 Speed I Chain Delinker For Road And MTB

I have managed for many years using a chain splitter to pop a rivet to take the chain off, or occasionally removing the split link with a pair of needle-nosed pliers, but I always found it a bit of a faff. I put off buying these for a long time because it seemed expensive for something I'll use for a few seconds about once a month. Finally I bought them and I wish I'd bought them years ago. They are nicely made, feel robust and comfortable in the hand, and they opened the link in my Shimano chain with no effort at all in about half a second. Rejoining the chain is a tad fiddlier, but it is a job which can be done in 5 seconds with this tool. There is no need to file off the stop, as some reviewers have suggested. Just ensure that the tool is inserted deeply enough into the gaps in the links. This tool is a delight to use. I shouldn't have thought about how little time I'd spend using it, but how much time I'd save by using it. I have 2 bikes and remove the chains to clean and wax them about once a month.

Makes life a lot easier when doing bike maintenance, a good quality tool that's essential to anyone who's into cycling.

Usual excellent BBB quality and very well priced. This is a bike shop quality tool, made by a reputable manufacturer. If you're having trouble deciding between this and another tool in this price range go with this one as the other won't be as good. Others have said this tool doesn't work for closing a master/missing link but after using it today I'd say that's more than likely user error than a problem with the tool. It worked flawlessly both opening and closing a master/missing link. What more can I say, its excellent quality and works perfectly.

Just what I needed after replacing my snapped chain with a new one then putting the new one on incorrectly! After trying methods online which did not require a tool (to no avail) I bought this tool which worked straight away much more easily. Tool is comfortable to use and chain is not damaged from using it.
