Perfect!
Perfect chain for my 7-speed bike! The chain length is also good. The included chainring is useless. Not expensive and good quality. Original Shimano chain. Sorry no picture.

Excellent chain, link let's it down...
Good quality, but the link used to connect the chain was really difficult to fit. Hence the 4 stars.

Good value and quality
Good value for money. Works well. Can be split using a chain link splitter.. to reduce it's length to suit. I have used three now on different bikes with 7 and 8 sprocket rear wheel cassettes

Perfect for my 90s MTB.
I am the proud owner of 4 different 90s MTBs (each one in slightly different trims for different purposes) and 2 of them have 7-speed Shimano rear derailleurs. This is the obvious chain to buy! The joining link is unlike anything you've seen before. There is a knack to fitting it. Read the instructions carefully and look for YouTube videos if it's still not clear; search for: SOLVED! Solid, Reliable Chain
This is a fantastic chain from a brand I can rely on. It fits snuggly for my 2x8 derailleur setup, and it ran smoothly right out of the box. I didn't have a chain breaker handy, so it was hard to shorten, which shows how solid the chain is. Once installed, it has worked perfectly as expected. I highly recommend it for durability with performance.

Great chain.
This chain was a perfect replacement for my old worn out one. I didn't need to remove any links as it was the same length as the old one. It was quite fiddly to join the two ends together with the special link, but that was probably more down to my ineptitude rather than a problem with the product. Easy to fit to the bike, good price for a good make. I've cycled approximately 30 miles with it so far without issue.

What a load of rubbish
oh dear what has happened to shimano a total rubbish product. quick link i think not ,link was bent on opening box ,bent it back into shape only to find it is impossible to fit there is a trick to fit it but why should it need a trick. once it clicks into place accomplished on kitchen table then it cannot be removed. Buy a decent product from another manufacturer. 1 star the box was useful.

8-speed affordability
So far so good. Packaging looks like the real thing and the price is good.

Easy Install — Just Be Careful Cutting the Length
The Shimano HG40 chain was easy to install and shifts smoothly. The only issue was my own mistake — I cut the chain too short because I didn’t follow the instructions carefully, and I ended up having to buy another one. Definitely recommend checking the sizing instructions twice before cutting. Other than that, solid chain and straightforward install.
